Hi,

This is Harriet from Kindred Soil.

Thank you so much for joining me for this meditation.

We're going to follow a meditation that I've created which is inspired by autumn leaves.

As we come to the end of the autumn season,

Tipping into winter,

We're going to take some time to let go of those final leaves.

So just taking a moment to settle into the space that you're in.

Finding a comfortable position to sit or lie in or even stand for the meditation.

Remembering you can move at any time should you need to.

So if it feels comfortable to do so,

You might like to gently close your eyes or lower your gaze.

And settling into the points of contact with the surface beneath you.

You might trace these points of contact in your mind.

Maybe noticing the temperature of the air in the space that you're in.

It might be cooler or it might be warm.

Just noticing the contact with your skin,

With your face.

Maybe noticing the sounds around you.

Sounds inside the room.

Sounds outside the room.

And just inviting a little more ease into this moment.

Just seeing if there are any spaces in your body where you can invite a little more ease,

A little softening,

Giving your weight up to gravity that feels supportive.

I like to use the rhythm of my breath to do this.

Just tuning in to the slow expansion on the inhale and the subsiding on the exhale.

Just using that exhale to soften down a little bit each time.

Just allowing my shoulders to drop down a little more.

Allowing my forehead to soften.

My jaw to soften.

Just sinking into the points of contact beneath me.

We might imagine that we're sinking into the forest floor,

Into the soft moss,

Leaning on the large tree,

Allowing ourself to find a home down here.

And from this place we're going to see if we can find a sense of what we're holding on to that isn't ours.

We're holding onto our own.

We're holding onto our own.

We're going to see if we can find a sense of what we're holding onto that isn't ours.

We're holding onto anything that we don't need.

And this doesn't have to be specific words,

It might just be a feeling or a sense.

And we're going to allow the autumn breeze to help us release this.

And the autumn breeze will gather in.

And then allow this,

These leaves,

These things that we're holding onto that no longer serve us,

To fall away.

You might like to do this in the rhythm of the breath.

So on the in-breath,

Breathing in this autumn breeze.

Letting that gather inside you.

And on the out-breath,

Release.

Just allowing that breeze to take with it the things that no longer serve us.

And just following this pattern a few more times,

Giving yourself time to release anything that feels like it needs to go.

Gathering in the autumn breeze.

And releasing out what no longer serves us.

And now we're going to invite the autumn breeze again,

But instead this time,

The breeze is going to bring back to us the energy that we've sent out into the world that hasn't been reciprocated or received.

That hasn't landed in the places that it was intended to land.

Just bringing back this energy so that we can nourish ourselves over the coming winter.

So again,

The breeze is going to draw this into our body,

Drawing in all of this energy and then allowing this to settle.

So you might like to use the breath again,

Or you can just visualize the breeze.

You're using the breath on the in-breath,

Imagining drawing in all of this energy.

All of this energy coming back into us,

Into our bodies.

And then on the out-breath,

Allowing this to settle down into the body.

Allowing it to saturate back into us.

Just repeating this a couple of times to really allow yourself to receive what needs to come back to you.

Drawing in the energy and allowing it to settle back into the body.

You might imagine this as a golden light or it might just be a felt sensation,

Whatever feels right for you.

And now just taking a moment to savour this feeling.

This feeling of having let go and the feeling of having drawn back in.

The energy that was not received.

Just sitting with that glow,

With that feeling of nourishment and calm.

Perhaps noticing if there are any thoughts or emotions that come up for you.

Just bringing kindly awareness to whatever's in our experience right now.

And now allowing our awareness to come back into the body.

Into the points of contact,

The surface beneath us.

We might like to take a deep breath if that feels supportive.

Noticing the sounds in the space around us.

You may like to wiggle your fingers or toes or invite some movement if that feels supportive.

And when you feel ready,

Gently opening your eyes or raising your gaze.

Just allowing your eyes to wander around the space that you're in.

Coming back to this moment.

And this autumn breeze is something that you can bring back.

If you ever feel the need to let go or to draw back some energy,

This is yours to use.

Thank you so much for joining for this meditation.

I hope you found it supportive.

I hope you found it helpful.

I'd love to hear from you and connect with you soon.

Take care.
