Welcome to a new moon guided meditation.

I'm Heather,

Your guide today.

My passion is helping women enjoy a balanced cycle and smooth transition into menopause.

I love sharing the lunar practices of Ayurveda that can enhance their health and well-being.

Anyone's health and well-being for that matter.

I'm glad you're here.

These practices are rooted in the wisdom of nature and the cosmos as seen through the lens of Vedic astrology.

In today's meditation,

I may bring up a few different themes and if they resonate with you,

You might want to jot them down.

Have a journal handy if you'd like to do that.

First,

Make yourself comfortable and know that you can change your position at any time.

Take care of yourself and your needs.

Just relax and listen.

Today,

We are guided by the new moon.

The new moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle,

Made up of 28 days.

And as you may know,

That accurately reflects the menstrual cycle,

The monthly cycle.

This is a time of new beginnings.

Think about closing the previous chapter of the previous 28 days,

Starting a new one with this new moon.

Every cycle,

A new start.

Think about letting go of the past in this way and step into the possibility of now.

What are you ready to let go of so that you can step into this next chapter?

Lunar holidays are marked by the personality of the visiting zodiac sign and its ruling planet.

The moon changes zodiac signs every two and a half days.

So every new and full moon will be associated with a different zodiac sign and its ruling planet,

Which really lends its personality to that particular lunar holiday.

So it means that every lunar holiday has a different theme for you to ponder,

To focus,

And to reflect.

This month's new moon is in Aquarius,

An air sign ruled by Saturn.

We can see Aquarian energy embodied in the beat of the heart,

The rhythmic pulse of circulation,

And electrical signals that keep us humming along.

It is pure,

Flowing,

Pulsing energy.

Take a moment to bring your palms to your heart.

Feel your heart beating.

Do you feel this energy coursing through you?

This is the vital life force,

Prana.

Prana enlivens every living being.

This is consciousness,

An energy that all beings share.

It connects us.

Take a moment to feel into that connection with other living beings,

Plant beings,

Tree beings,

Animal,

Land and sea beings,

And of course human beings.

Take a couple of breaths into that.

Inviting breath in through the nose,

Releasing out of the mouth or nose.

Maybe do that one more time.

Get in touch with your own life force.

This Aquarian energy that we all share,

That we share with the earth,

With nature,

With the whole cosmos.

Speaking of energy,

Aquarius is a great conduit of energy and can help us connect with this greater source.

That source that is bigger than us,

That also connects us,

That brings us together.

You can plug into this source of energy for inspiration and creativity for this new moon.

It can be earth energy,

Moon energy,

Or that of the cosmos.

With each breath,

Notice energy entering through your nostrils.

Maybe take another deep breath now and feel that energy being drawn into your head.

This feeds your whole mind body system.

So prana associated with oxygen is nourishment.

Take another couple of breaths here to draw that in.

In through the nose,

Slowly and smoothly release out of the nose or mouth.

Whatever feels right.

Maybe do that once more.

Experience the intake of prana.

Feel the nourishment.

Feel the breath as nourishment,

Especially on the inhale.

And on the exhale,

You might imagine releasing anything that you no longer need.

In an Aquarius new moon,

Our mind and thoughts may take center stage as Aquarians love to live in their minds.

Take some time to notice the thoughts that might be coursing through your mind now.

Try not to grasp on to them,

Analyze or try to figure them out.

Instead,

Let them flow through you.

Watch the mind at work with awe and curiosity.

These thoughts that you experience are a form of prana.

Notice that thoughts can also bring feelings.

Notice any feelings.

Feel the feelings.

These feelings are prana too.

Spend some time here getting in touch with the expansiveness of the mind.

The thoughts,

The feelings,

Maybe also images,

Colors.

There's so much there to experience.

This experience is your human experience.

Again,

Witness yourself at work with awe and curiosity.

No right,

No wrong.

Just what is.

When we close our eyes,

And of course,

It's okay not to,

If that's not comfortable.

We are plunged into this vast universe of infinite possibilities.

This is pure potential.

Anything is possible.

What do you want to envision for yourself with this new moon?

New moons being about new beginnings,

And new starts.

Think of it as a do over.

What do you want?

Do you want to know abundance or envision abundance?

Feel that now by imagining yourself feeling abundant.

Don't worry about the why.

Just feel what you imagine it feels like.

And now,

In this moment,

With this breath,

You are abundant.

Do you want to know joy?

Do you want to feel joy?

Imagine you being joyful,

And you have it.

It can be that simple.

The mind is a powerful tool.

We can train our thoughts to create our reality.

What do you want to create with this new moon today?

Ayurveda wisdom teaches us to balance the presiding energies of the visiting planets with balancing energy.

Aquarius is ruled by the vata dosha,

Or energy.

Vata is airy,

Windy,

Inconsistent,

Unpredictable.

It's highly movable and changeable.

And this relates to Aquarius's ruling planet Saturn as well.

Both very airy beings.

Fast moving energy.

To balance this energy that can sweep you away,

Focus on the contact between you and the earth.

Do you feel your feet on the ground?

Can you feel your seat connected with the ground?

Even if you're sitting in a chair,

Or lying in bed,

Can you draw that energy down towards the earth?

Ground yourself down and plug in.

With each breath,

Draw earth's energy into you.

And notice it's nourishing energy.

For more grounding with this new moon,

Spend more time in nature and walking with your feet on the earth if you can.

A little bit about Saturn.

He is a wise elder planet.

In fact,

Instead of being very fast moving,

Like the vata dosha,

It's very slow moving.

However,

Very dependable when we want to get important work done.

Now important work takes time.

Your personal planetary stage with him will last nearly 30 years.

We will all take a long,

Sometimes arduous walk with Saturn at least once if not twice in our lifetime.

He loves order,

Routines,

Rituals.

Could your life use more of any of that right now?

His message is patience and perseverance.

In other words,

Don't give up.

Keep going.

Even when the going gets tough.

I know it's kind of corny.

But that's Saturn for you.

Old man humor and all.

Aquarius is known for its inconsistent and irregular energy.

How can you bring more consistency to your life right now?

That may be what is needed.

In particular,

Saturn can help us release our attachments so that we can move forward on our spiritual journey.

Is there anything holding you back?

Any hurdles you need to overcome?

Where is there resistance?

And is that something you can let go?

Let's take a deep breath with this now.

Inviting breath in through the nose.

And on the exhale,

Imagine you're letting something go.

You don't need to know exactly what that is.

Just use the gesture of the exhale to enjoy the release.

Maybe sighing the breath out if that feels good.

Saturn shows us the heart of yoga.

The flame of yoga.

The tapas,

The discipline.

He says,

To stick with it,

No matter what.

To dedicate yourself to spiritual practice,

Whatever that might be.

Spiritual practice is anything that fills you up and lights you up.

And don't give up.

And even when you do,

There's time to start again.

A new moon is a great time to start new projects.

A new phase in this chapter.

Ayurvedic wisdom also tells us to prepare for the low energy that is consistent with the waning and new moon.

This is low energy time,

You may feel drained.

Honor that.

Tune into that.

Take time during the week of the new moon to tend to yourself.

It can be a time of great vulnerability.

It's normal and okay.

Honor that.

Lighten your load.

Give yourself some space and time to just breathe and be you.

That's all that's ever being asked of you.

To breathe and be you.

Because there's no one else like you.

We need you.

You bring something special to this world that no one else can.

So there's a time of rest with the new moon so that you can store up that energy and enjoy it with a full moon.

That is the cycle of energy that we all experience throughout the lunar cycle,

Throughout the month,

And especially women,

Because we are especially attuned to the moon and this water energy that flows through us.

Where we experience the peaks and the valleys of our fullness,

Always returning to fullness.

So remember,

With the darkness of the new moon,

If you may feel low,

You may feel discouraged.

Just remember that energy is on the rise as we approach the full moon.

This too shall pass.

It always passes and we return to fullness in a fairly short amount of time.

So give yourself that time to observe yourself,

To notice thoughts and feelings,

To take rest when that is what you need.

I hope you found this meditation helpful.

Feel free to revisit these themes at the start of the next lunar cycle to see how they may have changed or evolved.

You might take a few moments after this meditation to jot down any themes that really resonated with you.

I wish you good luck and take care.

Take care of yourself.

Take care of each other.

In two weeks,

There will be a full moon with a new zodiac sign and planet to talk to.

So stick around.

The next step on the soul's journey just keeps getting more interesting.
