Good morning everybody,
Good afternoon,
And good evening.
This is Reiki master,
Shani Michelle.
And I am here today with a momentum checklist for 2024.
I know that everyone tries to better their self at the beginning of a year.
So just based on what I talked to my clients about last year and things that I dealt with myself,
I composed a list of 15 momentum checks that may just help you get in a better state of mind or improve your health or just bring good things into you,
All of the things that you deserve in 2024.
Number one,
Make a decision and a momentum will move that way.
Listen,
If you don't like it,
Move to change it.
If you want it,
Go for it.
Check yourself,
Believe in yourself and pick a step.
Step one,
Start anywhere.
It will be enough and go that way.
Number two,
Practice good self-care.
I'm a Reiki practitioner,
So this is very important to me and practicing good self-care changed my life.
So spend quiet time with yourself daily,
Investigate yourself daily,
Check in on yourself,
Exercise,
Clean up,
Take your vitamins,
Reflect,
Take good care of yourself and your surroundings.
Ask yourself,
Do you feel good about you?
Do you feel good about who you are and where you're going?
And if not,
Check yourself and pick a step one and go that way.
Number three,
Put your shoulders down.
Untense your body and seek out help for pain.
Find ways to relax physically.
Our physical stance tells us a lot about how we feel on the inside or mentally.
Shoulders hiked up to your ears,
Stiff joints,
Headaches,
Always moving and walking really fast.
To me,
These are all signs of a tense soul.
Our bodies are meant to be loose and fluid.
Everything about our energy,
Including our mental capabilities,
Are better when we are not in pain,
When we are loose and we are relaxed physically.
We can't run from all stress at all,
But once we see it,
Especially in our body,
We have to check ourselves and take steps to relax.
Get a massage,
Stretch,
Declutter unnecessary stress,
Get in a hot tub,
Go to a professional like a chiropractor or a doctor.
Relaxing your physical body clears your thinking,
Opens your joints,
Increases blood circulation,
And helps us to be more calm during external stress,
Especially tenseness around your head and neck.
Your head and neck to me are your connection to divinity,
Perception,
And communication,
And we all want those to flow freely daily.
Number four,
Treat others as you would want to be treated.
You have to always remember you are the bozo on the bus to someone else.
If you wouldn't want it for yourself,
You shouldn't want it for others.
If you wouldn't want it done to you,
Don't do it to others.
If you wouldn't want people to think thoughts about you in that way,
Check yourself and make sure you are not pushing thoughts onto others.
When you are good to others,
It comes back to you.
When you're bad to others,
That comes back as well.
You need all of your good stuff to come back to you this year.
You deserve it.
Number five,
Make sure that you turn the other cheek.
Turn the other cheek to me does not mean that people are just able to beat up on you in life or do anything to you.
It's definitely not nice guys finish last or a life of long suffering.
I interpret it as turn your head,
Redirect yourself and head out of the bowl.
If someone comes back to you after they've slapped one of your cheeks,
They'll have to slap the other one because you've redirected,
You have turned your attention in a different direction from them.
A direction of love for yourself,
You're longing for happiness,
No longer focusing on them,
Not accepting anything but your good life.
It's a strong stance that you're taking and hard for some of us,
But you don't have to accept all things.
You don't have to get angry when other people get angry.
You can give anything the cheek and maintain your happiness.
Now,
If you're the one acting up or AKA,
You're the one slapping other people's cheeks or placing negative emotions on others,
People may turn their cheek to you and it sucks.
So check yourself on that.
We do need each other,
But if you're not good,
No one in your life is good or no one that loves you is good either.
If you're always angry,
No one in your life is happy with you.
No one in your life feels comforted around you.
Everything in life cannot affect you,
Especially negatively.
You have to check yourself and redirect your attention back to the good.
Stress will kill you.
Avoid it at all costs,
Especially if someone else is bringing it and you have the ability to avoid it.
Number six,
Smile more.
Your smile is magic.
I absolutely love to see people smile.
It releases chemicals,
Endorphins,
Hormones that improve your health and lower stress.
It honestly improves your everyday life and the lives of everyone that you meet.
When you are smiling,
You get a different response from people than if people meet you and you are frowning.
Okay,
Sometime when I'm in deep thought,
And I smile a lot,
But when I'm in deep thought,
I have this really serious face and people are so used to seeing me smiling right away.
They're like,
Where's your smile?
You're not smiling today or,
Shani,
What's wrong?
And nothing may be wrong,
But just the presence of my smile lets them know that I am okay.
And I share that energy with each and every person I meet.
It is magnetic.
It is,
So check yourself and find ways to indulge in your smile this year.
Number seven,
Believe in the manifestation of a good life for you personally.
Faith without action is death,
So don't die.
Live fully and while you are alive,
Release the things you see hurting you,
Addictions,
Negative beliefs,
Generational curses,
Measuring your worthiness based around money.
Don't just accept the things you are doing to yourself or your mindsets.
Check yourself.
You can change them and it is okay.
Don't compare yourself to others.
I promise you are individual and there is no comparison.
You deserve whatever you want,
As long as it's in the best interest of yourself and of all.
Just believing that is true is the confidence that can shape your life for the better and manifest your desires.
Number eight,
Do not let trauma or emotional pain dictate where your life should go.
These are things that you picked up along the way,
But they were never the intention on your life.
I call it people matter.
Typically,
People hurt us and when people hurt us,
That may cause us to hurt others.
You have to break that cycle.
Those lessons are temporary and can be released.
Forgive yourself for your mistakes and not living up to your own expectations.
Forgive others also for not living up to the expectations that you set for them.
And then make new expectations for yourself and live up to them.
Seek help,
Contact a professional,
Ask a good friend what you should do to get out of this trauma,
To release this emotional pain.
Taking that quiet time daily may help you see some self-sabotaging behaviors you have that are based on negative emotions,
Usually given to you by other people or things that may have happened to you.
Check yourself,
Seek help,
Help yourself,
But don't allow that to stay.
2020 is the year to let your trauma go.
Listen,
In life,
People may do some crappy things to you.
They may say some crappy things.
Believe you're better than that and make sure you're living up to what you think of yourself.
Number nine,
Release grief and sorrow.
This honestly may tap into emotional trauma and it will look different for everyone.
But grief by itself comes from the loss of something in our life that changes our current existence.
People,
Marriages,
Jobs,
Material goods,
Negative emotions,
Worry about the future can all cause grief.
And grief can hang onto you in the worst way.
I would have to say I have a large amount of clients that mention some sort of grief or sorrow to me.
So remember,
If it's a material good,
It can be replaced.
Nothing material is really ever lost.
If it can be bought,
That means you can rebuy it.
If it's sentimental,
You already remember it.
Nothing can take that.
Even if you lost it,
Even if it was your grandma's photo album or something happened in a fire and you lost things that were treasured to you,
You do remember that they were there.
And I suggest you go back to those good memories often.
It will be enough.
Remember currently that you have enough,
Okay?
You are alive and you are here and you are able to get more.
You can fall in love again.
That's always a big one with grief.
We grieve about lost loves.
We do.
We grieve about them and we can fall in love again and we can find happiness again,
Okay?
I want you to really believe that in your heart and work on yourself daily.
Work on yourself daily.
Grief can stagnate the process of returning to the practice of having the good things that we want.
Lack is a lie in any sense of the word.
The strongest forms of grief seem to come with the loss of someone we love.
I believe we are a guaranteed life as we see we're here.
And in that guarantee,
There's also the afterlife.
We can't control death.
We can't control other people's lives.
Each life is individual,
Each having a beginning and an end.
So I say while you are here,
Make sure you are living fully.
Make sure you are not afraid to die but more afraid not to live.
When it comes to the matter of the end of life for someone that you love,
You have to know that they would like for you to remain happy while you're here.
You would want the same thing for them.
You wouldn't want them to be here just sad about you every single day.
Try not to focus remembrance of your person on death days or the month they died or the year they died but more on birthdays,
Good times,
Holidays and beautiful occasions that you got to share with your person.
If there was something left unsaid,
It's not needed.
Let it go,
Move on.
Your person was here and they lived their period.
You grieving constantly won't bring them back to human form and you being happy in your life will not make them non-existent.
They were here.
If the grief is hindering your spirit or restricting your life,
Check yourself.
It's time to uplift yourself and break free.
Seek help and guidance out of the emotion of grief.
It's a tough one for a lot of people but it should have a beginning and it should have an end.
It's natural to miss something that you've lost but it's unnatural to allow the loss to take over your life.
You are an individual.
You also have a beginning and an end but right now you are alive.
Take control and find your peace.
That's what's wanted for you by your ancestors,
Your inner self and your creator.
Number 10,
What you say has power.
Use your tongue and your words wisely.
First off,
This year,
Talk nice to yourself and others.
Talk nice over your situations and the situations of others.
Encouraging words,
Words with peace,
Words with a good purpose and not careless,
Negative emotions or jealousy,
Envy or fear.
Your words are a product of your thinking,
A direct reflection of your situations,
Circumstances and emotions.
Words are what create enemies and words are what ignite love.
Your words stick to whatever you're talking about.
They almost draw out more of the same conversation to you.
If you talk the lack,
You see the lack.
You talk the abundance,
You see the abundance.
The laws of increase and karma are triggered by the tongue.
If you can go all ways with your tongue,
Make sure you're going in a good way.
Check yourself and make sure your words make you proud and are leading you in the best way for you and all around you.
Number 11,
Use your love and positive human connection.
Share it,
Spread it,
Seek it out in situations to use it.
Your love,
This includes and most importantly,
Using 100% love for yourself.
Fill your cup before you try to pour into others to get the most out of your love.
Love yourself,
Love others,
Hug,
Engage and touch,
Pet the dog,
Get massages,
Make love with the person you love.
Exercise,
Love your body,
Eat well,
Love your body.
Tell people you love them often.
Do positive things that you love.
I love to read books,
It makes me very happy.
Express the love emotions.
Trust yourself with this.
I know love has been misused and we're all hurt by that.
If we're using our conscience,
We've learned that love doesn't feel like those things that we've experienced that have hurt us.
And now we are fully capable of doing the opposite and seeing clearly where to direct our love.
Nevertheless,
We have to move on.
So check yourself if you love nothing.
If you're a person who never expresses love or says I don't use the word love and I've heard all kinds of things,
You're limiting your capability.
It's healthy for us to use the love and to receive it,
Even if it's from ourselves to ourselves.
And I believe that from ourselves to ourselves may even be the most important love connection that you can have.
Number 12,
Be present.
You cannot go back to yesterday.
You cannot skip to tomorrow.
You cannot fully live your life trying to replicate the lives you see.
You can't always regret what happened.
You cannot always be planning for the future.
You have to engage in your life daily and show up for yourself.
This list is a whole group of things where you have to show up for yourself.
Meet yourself where you are daily.
Yeah,
We all have problems,
Things that we don't do right.
It does not mean that we can't change them.
It does not mean we cannot live the life that we are capable of living to the fullest.
Limit the time you're fantasizing about other people's lives.
Dream big about your life.
Engage in the present.
Everybody is made happy by something different,
Okay?
So you can't compare what truly makes you happy to what truly makes someone else happy.
It's impossible.
You honestly will never comprehend how someone else feels or what is going on in their life.
You're not living it,
Okay?
So think your life is great.
The people it seems most people idolize are generally people that are living for the moment,
People that are expressive,
Smiling,
And happy.
You are no different.
It's just a matter of perception,
And that's usually shrouded by your current situations.
And honestly,
People judge themselves a lot by money.
It's just not true.
You gotta remember that appearances change.
Where you are today,
You could be somewhere different tomorrow.
I know some people's present sucks.
I know that.
But even being fully aware of what your present is can help you change situations,
Set momentum and positive thoughts in your life.
Seek out and find the joy in your every day.
Check yourself.
Don't disassociate from your life or long for another.
Enjoy and grow the beautiful life that you do have.
People like me would love to see what you can do.
Number 13,
Do something you have never done before.
And that,
Once again,
Is on the guideline of showing up for yourself.
I believe that everything you do starts with a reaction,
A momentum,
A action.
So make sure you are experiencing new things that excite you,
Things that make you smile,
Things that leave you in awe,
Things that make you feel brave,
Strong,
Or things that bring positivity in your life.
If it feels good,
If you're not hurting anyone,
Including yourself,
And you've never did it before,
But you really want to or you really love that thing,
Check yourself and do it.
Take that class,
Book that trip,
Skydive,
Try that recipe.
Bad and frustrating things seem to come really easy these days.
So make sure you're throwing in positive and unique experiences.
Take control and allow yourself to experience and grow.
Your life and the lives around you deserve that.
Number 14,
Develop your spirituality.
Everyone is not spiritual,
But I believe that most of us listening here on Insight Timer probably are.
Believe truly in your mind,
Body,
Soul connection.
This is really big for my other practitioners.
We have to believe before we can convince others to believe.
God is a loaded topic for most.
Everyone believing you connect in this way or in that way.
There is no competition.
I believe that the confusion is you have to find out for yourself.
I don't know what religion you should follow.
I don't know what church you should attend.
I don't know what books you should read,
Which ones are good,
Which ones are for you or not for you.
I don't know which prayer you should pray because my faith is individual.
But what I do know is based on my studies,
God is righteous,
Harmonious,
Peaceful,
And loving.
God is loyal,
Light giving,
And balanced.
God is nonjudgmental and benevolent.
God is extremely creative.
So as long as the deity you are serving and how you're serving them encourages you in these beautiful directions,
I believe you're making a divine connection.
We know when something doesn't feel right.
We know when we are hiding.
We know when something is full of light and love.
We know when something is dark and when it's wrong and when we are wrong.
Our intuition,
Our third eye makes sure of that.
So listen to your conscience,
Your gut.
I feel like your life in God and your inner self lives there.
Ask directly for guidance on all things spiritual from God and from your inner self.
Say,
Does this feel right?
Believe you'll be redirected if you need be and enjoy the beauty and support from the guiding light on a personal level.
Listen,
It is a lovely journey when you get in touch with your light self.
It's great to belong to a group that worships.
I love going to church.
I love being around other worshipers,
But a strong group of believers is made up of people who trust their own spirituality independently and feel a divine connection without the group.
Don't judge other's spirituality.
Don't judge their faith.
Don't judge their religion.
The judgment of others as far as God is concerned is just a distraction and it does distract you.
Focus on spirituality of your own.
Check yourself and read and explore your spirituality.
No matter where you came from,
There's always somewhere else to go.
Others that believe how you do and someone else to learn personally from in spirituality.
There are also things that are meant only for you.
Don't be afraid,
Don't look around and don't look back.
Be personal with your spirituality.
It should be private.
Look to God in all things and reap the benefit of growing divine connection independently and just for you.
I encourage you to cultivate your light.
It will shine in your life and in every life that you meet.
I hope that this list touches even one of you or I give you an idea how to move forward in your beautiful life.
