Hey friends,

Thanks for tuning in to this quick relaxation exercise,

Designed to help you renew your energy throughout the day.

It has been proven that the human body works best by alternating between periods of intense activity and periods of gentle activity and rest.

The problem many of us run into is that we get so caught up in the busyness of our day,

Where we are constantly on the go and constantly doing things.

We never take the time to give our mind and body the pockets of short rest and relaxation it needs so we can be at our best and become fully engaged and present with life.

So in this exercise,

We are going to do a quick systematic body scan,

Where we are going to relax different parts of your body,

Starting at your feet all the way to the top of your head.

As we go through each part of your body,

Slowly give yourself time to really feel the tension releasing from that part of your body.

It's one of the quickest and easiest ways to become relaxed at any time.

It is something that has really helped me since I've introduced it into my daily routine.

I find this is really beneficial to do in the middle of your workday,

Just to take five minutes and do this practice.

You will likely notice a boost of energy and clarity of mind.

So if you're ready,

Let's begin.

Close your eyes and find a comfortable seated position.

Take a deep breath in,

Fill your belly up,

And as you exhale,

Let go of any tension or stress you may be holding onto.

Allow your body to sink.

Sink into a state of calm,

Of relaxation,

And let your mind see an image that represents peace,

Tranquility,

And grace.

Hold that image just for a few seconds.

Now bring your attention to the bottom of your feet.

Feel the sensation of your feet making contact,

The ground,

Or any surface that you are resting on.

Notice any areas of tension or tightness in your feet,

And with each breath,

Imagine that tension melting away,

Leaving your feet feeling light and relaxed.

Move your awareness slowly up to your calves and shins.

Become aware of any sensations or feelings in this area.

As you inhale,

Imagine a wave of relaxation flowing up from your feet to your calves and shins,

Soothing any tension or discomfort.

Allow the muscles in your calves and your shins to soften and unwind.

Now shift your focus to your knees and your thighs.

Feel the weight of your legs,

Supported by the surface beneath you.

This area of our body does so much work for us.

It keeps us upright.

It keeps us stable.

It allows us to move around.

As you breathe in,

Imagine the breath traveling down to your knees and thighs,

Releasing any tightness or stiffness.

Let your legs let go and become completely at ease,

As if they are floating in a cloud of tranquility.

Picture your feet as if they are just dangling in the air,

Weightless and free.

Bring your attention to your hips and lower back.

Envision the breath flowing into this area,

Gently releasing any tension or discomfort.

Can you feel your muscles relaxing,

As if they are being embraced by a warm and comforting light?

Shift your awareness to your abdomen and chest.

Feel the gentle,

Natural rise and fall of your breath,

As it nourishes your body and mind.

Allow any tightness in this area to dissolve,

As you breathe deeply and fully and lovingly.

Sense a deep feeling of peace and calm spreading through your entire torso.

Now bring your attention to your hands and arms.

Notice the sensations in your hands,

In your fingertips,

In your wrist.

Do you feel vibration?

Do you feel heat?

Again,

Imagine that soothing wave of relaxation flowing down your arms now,

Releasing all tension and tightness.

Feel your hands becoming warmer and peaceful.

Feel the tingling and let go of any remaining stress or tension in your hands and arm.

Shift your focus to your shoulders and neck.

Become aware of any tightness or discomfort in this area of your body.

Envision that breath traveling up to your shoulders and your neck,

Melting away all tension and tightness.

Feel a sense of lightness and ease in this area,

As you let go and the muscles unwind and relax deeper.

Finally,

Direct your attention to your head and face.

Notice any sensations or feelings in your forehead,

Temples,

Jaw and cheeks,

As you breathe in.

Imagine that soft soothing breath flowing through your entire head,

Releasing any remaining tension or tightness.

Feel the muscles in your face soften,

And as they get more and more relaxed,

Your mind becomes more and more calm and serene.

Now,

Let's just rest.

Pause for a little to notice the feelings of relaxation.

Take a moment to appreciate this deep state of relaxation you have just cultivated,

That you have just created.

Feel the warmth,

Feel the comfort coursing through your body,

Nourishing your body,

And freeing your mind.

And know that you can return to this state of relaxation and tranquility at any time,

That you have the power to enter into this state just by doing this simple exercise.

All you need is a few minutes to put a break on the doing and gently rest each part of your body.

When you are ready,

Gently open your eyes and set the intention to carry this sense of peace and relaxation as you continue your day.

Thank you for doing this exercise with me.

I wish you a wonderful,

Joyful,

And deeply peaceful rest of your day.

Much love.
