Hello and welcome.
I'm Ali Garrison and welcome to Inner Light,
Active and on the move.
Within this episode you'll be able to be moving around in your everyday existence.
If you are as lucky as to be able to be laying still,
This podcast will also serve you well.
When you're ready,
Notice your breath.
Breathe in through your nose and as you breathe out,
Breathe out through your mouth.
Again repeating the process,
Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
And one last time in through the nose and as you breathe out through the mouth,
Feel a relaxation of your jaw and of your tongue.
And then gently close your lips and if possible we are now breathing in and out the nose.
If at any time you feel a need to breathe through the mouth,
Do so.
But I encourage you to close the mouth and nasal breathe as much as possible.
So often through our day we gain tension in our bodies and in our minds that we are not aware of and this tension can cause our diaphragm to restrict.
The overthinking mind and the emotions of being busy cause our breath to become shallow.
This becomes a vicious cycle of the shallow breath starving the body of its much-needed oxygen and therefore the nervous system heightening.
When we come into the presence of breathing,
We come into the presence of nourishing our bodies.
We are breathing consistently all through our day.
We are able to do this without any thought.
Our bodies naturally breathe.
But when we are able to bring our mind into the awareness,
We yoke,
We unite all of who we are.
If you have an overthinking mind,
If it is always busy and unable to be still,
Then one of the great gifts that you give yourself is to begin to practice breathing mindfully.
Breathing with an awareness that you are actually breathing.
It seems so simple,
Yet it is.
In the sense that when you consistently remind and bring your breath and your mind together,
They can become the greatest of friends.
But it is in creating the familiarity is where the power lies.
To practice mindful breath once a week will give you results,
But not give you the nourishment that your body is longing for.
Mindful breathing can be practiced at any time.
Driving the car,
Walking,
Working on the computer,
Even whilst on the phone.
If you are listening,
You have the opportunity to become aware of your breathing.
If you are traveling in any form of transport,
You have the ability to become aware of mindful breathing.
In this episode,
We're going to work with a simple technique of using words association with how we feel.
As you breathe in,
Breathe in imagining and with the awareness and within your mind saying,
I am breathing in peace.
As you breathe out,
I am peace.
I breathe in peace.
As you breathe out,
I am peace.
I am breathing in peace.
Breathing out,
I am peace.
As you continue to breathe with the mindfulness and using these sentences in your mind,
Start to notice the difference you feel through your body.
As you breathe in,
Have a sense that you are breathing in and welcoming peace to come into your body,
Into your mind,
Into your emotions.
As you breathe out,
A sense of flowing through your body,
Through your mind,
Your emotions,
And your breath.
A flowing of peace,
Washing peace in through the inhalation.
Cleansing with peace through the exhalation.
Washing in through peace,
Cleansing in the exhalation.
I breathe in peace.
Breathing out,
I am peace.
Breathing in peace.
I am peace.
Begin to feel the flow.
The mind wanders,
Gently bring it back.
Smile at those thoughts of past or future.
With your eyes open,
What do you see?
Gently remind yourself where you are.
What are you doing at this moment?
Where are you physically?
And then invite yourself to become present with being in that same moment mentally,
Emotionally.
And then delve back into the breath.
I am breathing in peace.
I am peace.
I'm breathing in peace.
I am peace.
Never resist the mind.
Never push it back or become frustrated with it.
Your mind requires nourishment in the direction in which you wish to take it.
So often within our society,
We lose sight of the mind as the instrument.
The divine incarnate is the student.
And when we attune our mind to mindful breathing,
Our instrument becomes in tune.
And then the student is able to play a beautiful melody with the mind.
It will push back at you because that is its habit.
But through kindness and compassion for yourself as you learn these new ways,
You will open a journey of profound peace.
Never become frustrated with that busy mind.
Instead,
Just encourage it.
Call it back to the sentences that we use within inner light.
I am breathing in peace.
I am peace.
Simple practices,
But when practiced regularly,
Have life-changing results.
I wish you well and encourage you to continue with your journey to truly discovering your inner light and that you are truly peace.
That you are pure love and that you are divine light.
Breathing in,
I breathe in peace because I choose to.
And breathing out,
I am peace because I am.
Thank you for sharing space with me.
May you continue to blossom in your journey into light.
Take care.
