Hello and welcome to this yoga nidra to align and honor the full moon in Gemini,

The final full moon of the year.

Take a moment to get yourself settled,

Feel free to light a candle,

Cleanse your space and then find a comfortable position you can rest in.

You might choose to lie on your back,

Maybe bringing in blankets or cushions but just creating a safe and cozy nest where your body can feel held.

If you need to pause the recording to get yourself settled please feel free to do so now.

As you are settling in I will briefly introduce the practice for you,

As I do so let your body settle and begin to let the eyes soften or close.

This nidra will be around 25 minutes including some silent moments.

During the practice you might find yourself drifting off to sleep or maybe my voice becomes a soft murmur in the background.

Just flow with your experience,

Let go of any expectation and know that there is no such thing as failure in yoga nidra,

That you will receive whatever you need to from this practice.

When you are ready I just invite you to bring some awareness to the surface beneath you,

Just noticing how it supports you,

Holding you safely allowing you to relax.

Maybe becoming aware of the contact points of your body to the surface and allowing yourself to arrive fully in this moment.

Nowhere else to be,

Nothing else to do.

If it's comfortable bringing some awareness to your breath,

Maybe breathing in and out through the nose.

You might add a gentle count to your breathing,

Breathing in for four and exhaling for a count of five or six.

Just using this count to help calm the mind and the body and to ground you into this moment.

With each inhale invite a sense of calm,

Clarity and presence.

With each exhale start to release tension,

Let your body settle more deeply with each breath,

Allowing your breath to be your anchor guiding you into stillness.

And as your body begins to rest and your mind becomes more present,

I invite you to start visualizing the full moon above you growing brightly in the winter sky,

Inviting stillness and clarity.

This is the final full moon of the year,

A moment to gather wisdom from the past months and to create space for what wants to emerge in the year ahead.

It can bring about a restless airy energy but also that invitation to release mental clutter,

To open the mind and to reconnect with the truth through gentle awareness.

Gemini full moon embodies curiosity,

Communication,

Duality.

It illuminates both sides of ourselves,

The light and the shadow,

Logic and intuition,

Movement and stillness.

Allow its light to help you release old thought patterns,

To release what no longer serves you and to welcome more clarity,

Curiosity and balance into your heart and mind.

If it feels right you might allow a sankalpa,

A heartfelt intention to arise that aligns with this moon.

This is a simple soul aligned phrase that plants a seed in your heart.

An example may be,

I honor both sides of myself.

I am open to clarity,

Curiosity and balance.

I release what no longer serves me.

I am aligned with truth and communication.

Whatever your sankalpa is,

Just repeating it a few times in your mind,

Letting it settle into your heart and then bringing your awareness back to the moon above you,

Visualizing its nurturing light shining down on you.

We are going to move through a rotation of consciousness.

As I mention a body part,

Simply bring your awareness to that area,

Maybe allowing the light of the full moon to illuminate each part as we come to it.

Starting at the crown of your head,

Maybe visualizing the moon's light entering through your crown,

Bringing clarity and calmness with it.

To the forehead,

Left eye,

Right eye,

Both eyes together,

The nose,

Mouth,

The whole face,

The right ear,

Both ears together,

The back of the head,

The neck,

The collarbones,

The left shoulder,

Left upper arm,

Forearm,

Back of the left hand,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Fourth and little finger,

All five fingers,

The whole left hand,

Illuminated by the full moon,

Softening,

The left armpit,

The outside of the left ribcage,

The waist,

The left hip,

Left thigh,

Knee,

Left lower leg,

Ankle,

Foot,

The whole left leg,

The whole left side of the body,

The lower back,

The middle of the back,

Shoulders,

The right shoulder,

The right upper arm,

Right elbow,

Wrist,

Back of the right hand,

Palm of the right hand,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Fourth and little finger,

All five fingers,

The whole right hand,

The whole right arm,

Softening in this moonlight,

The left armpit,

The right armpit,

Right side of the ribcage,

Waist,

Right hip,

Thigh,

Right knee,

Right ankle,

Foot and toes,

The whole right leg,

The whole right side of the body,

The pelvis,

The navel,

The solar plexus,

The heart space,

The entire body,

The entire left side,

The entire right side,

Completely balanced,

Resting under the light of this full moon,

Bringing some awareness back to your breath,

Not needing to change it,

Just simply observing,

Observing how your body breathes for you,

Takes care of you,

Perhaps observing the journey your breath takes,

In through the nose,

Through the throat,

To the heart space,

Maybe even down to the abdomen,

The gentle ebb and flow,

Maybe observing the sensations the breath brings with it,

Perhaps a coolness at the tip of the nose or the back of the throat as you breathe in,

As you exhale,

Perhaps the sensations change,

Feeling warmer,

More grounding,

Allow your awareness to rest with this rhythm,

Cool,

Light inhalation,

Bringing clarity,

Warm grounding,

Exhalation,

Encouraging release with each breath,

Your body becoming stiller,

With each breath,

The body settling deeper into calm,

Your mind opening to clarity and balance notice the subtle contrasts within the breath,

The light,

Rising quality of the inhale,

The soft,

Settling warmth of the exhale feeling how these opposites,

Most of air and lightness,

Opposed with grounding and releasing,

Co-exist within you,

Creating a natural harmony simply observe,

Receive,

Let your body breathe for you,

Let your breath support you and if it's comfortable,

I now invite you to imagine a place in nature,

Imagine yourself walking along a path illuminated by the Gemini full moon the path winds gently through a peaceful landscape,

Perhaps a forest clearing,

A hillside,

Or even a garden bathed in this silver light the night sky above you is vast,

Filled with stars twinkling with possibility,

You feel the air around you alive with ideas,

Movement,

Energy and each step that you take is mindful yet playful,

Maybe hopping from one foot to the other,

Balancing your thoughts with feeling,

Logic with intuition grounding with that airy quality,

Ahead you find a quiet clearing bathed in moonlight,

In that clearing is a small pond,

And you choose to find a comfortable spot to sit beside it start to observe how the moonlight glistens on the surface of this pond,

Yet shadows linger along its edges,

Cast by the trees and rocks the water is calm,

Reflecting the sky,

While the breeze around you still stirs leaves,

You can hear distant birds calling,

Breaking the silence,

Yet the night remains peaceful and still just noticing these opposites within the space,

The light and the shadow,

The movement and stillness,

The sound and the silence all coexisting naturally in the landscape,

Neither dominating,

Both part of the harmony of this place and gently turning the awareness inwards,

Sensing the opposites within yourself,

The thoughts that might come into your mind,

Yet the stillness of lying here and resting the clarity that you sometimes can feel,

Yet the vulnerability that sometimes comes with that,

Just as nature,

These contrasts coexist within us,

Each with a purpose and value allow yourself to rest in the harmony of this place,

Allowing the silver glow of the moon to surround you,

To help you feel safe,

Held and present and as you rest here,

If it's comfortable,

Just begin to gently inquire,

Not needing to force any answers,

But just simply notice what arises what thoughts or patterns no longer serve me?

What beliefs am i ready to release?

What thoughts,

Feelings,

Habits is this full moon illuminating?

What is ready to fall away before the new year begins?

And what am i ready to invite more of in?

Again,

Not needing to dwell or force any answers,

But just observing,

Allowing your intuition,

Your inner guidance to come forwards allowing the moonlight to wash over these thoughts,

Easing them,

Softening them,

With each exhale,

Release gently,

Each inhale,

Welcome clarity,

Balance,

Renewal and you might visualise sending the light of the full moon to any areas of your body,

Or mind,

Or life,

Where duality feels challenging,

Where there's anything stuck or that you're holding onto and allowing this light of compassion,

Of understanding,

Of balance to flow to those spaces,

Bringing harmony to all parts of you and you are ready,

Just invite you to bring your awareness back to the sankalpa you set earlier,

Repeat it silently in your mind,

Letting it settle that little bit deeper into your heart feel it's energy glowing softly within you,

Planting the seed of clarity,

Balance and alignment,

It may have been I honour both sides of myself I am open to clarity,

Curiosity and balance,

I release what no longer serves me,

I am aligned with the truth in communication in a moment,

We will begin our slow and gentle return,

If you need to rest a little bit longer,

Please feel free to do so,

Stay here and take as much time as you need but if you are ready,

You can start to bring your awareness back to the physical body,

To the weight of your limbs against the surface beneath you,

To the breath gently flowing and you might take a few deeper inhalations to bring some energy back into the body to reawaken,

And maybe start to invite some gentle movement in,

A wiggle of fingers and toes,

A roll of the head from side to side,

Just bringing you out of that nidra state taking as much time as you need to reawaken from this practice,

And as you're doing so,

Giving thanks to yourself for dedicating this time to rest and reflection,

To align with the full moon in Gemini take a moment to observe how you feel,

What insights may have arisen,

And just showing yourself some love and some compassion this is the end of our nidra practice,

Sending lots of love your way,

Thank you very much for practicing with me,

And take care
