In this life,
Nobody is immune to struggle.
We all face experiences that challenge us.
And the truth is that we don't emerge from the depths of this challenge feeling healed.
We surface feeling different.
We come out understanding that we've changed.
That we've been rewoven and altered in some cavernous way.
And as we begin to become acquainted with new parts of ourselves that we weren't even aware existed.
As we traverse this new terrain in our mind and in our heart.
We come to understand that parts of our old self have and will need to die.
There may be moments when the pain is unbearable.
There may be periods of fear,
Uncertainty,
Loneliness.
But when the season of grieving is over,
The buds of your new self,
They will flourish.
And they will blossom.
And a new you will emerge.
This meditation has been created to welcome you home.
To allow you to settle into a space that more gently allows you to see and feel into a new way of being.
Please take a moment now to allow this physical body to get as comfortable as it can.
Either laying down or sitting upright.
It makes no difference but allow the body to be easy and soft.
And when you feel as though you have reached a positioning with this physical vessel that feels like you can really surrender and relinquish.
Please allow your eyelids to close down.
Relax the face.
Relax the jaw and the shoulders.
And from wherever you're at right now,
Take a deep and full breath in through your nose.
And then part your lips,
Open your mouth and sigh the air away.
And do that again,
Breathing in through the nose.
Filling up.
Creating space.
And then opening the mouth to sigh the air away.
Last one,
Breathing in.
Exhale out.
Notice how you feel.
Notice how a few deep breaths can relax the body and the mind even further.
Your day,
Your worries,
Your challenges feeling further and further away.
And then from this place of total relinquishment,
From this place of relaxation,
Begin to breathe in through your nose.
And as you exhale,
Make the sound of the ocean with your lips.
Like this.
Take another breath in through the nose.
The air leaves.
And continue to breathe in this way.
Inhaling deeply in through the nose.
And exhaling with the sound of shhhhh to send all of the air away.
Continue to breathe in this cycle,
In this pattern.
Inhaling through the nose.
And exhaling the sound of the ocean.
Continue breathing like this.
Every in-breath enters through the nose and fills you up.
And every exhale is long and intentional and with the embodiment of the ocean.
Continue breathing for these last few breaths,
Just as you are.
Moving through one final round,
Inhaling as deeply as you can.
And exhaling it all away.
Let your breath return back to normal.
Moving easily and organically through your nose,
Through your mouth,
Whatever feels the most comfortable.
And before you open your eyes,
Just take a moment to feel and to notice.
There is a nerve that resides within you.
It runs through your entire body and kisses,
Touches every single organ.
And this nerve is called the vagus nerve.
And as you breathe,
Making the sound of the ocean,
You pacify this nerve.
And your body migrates gracefully into a parasympathetic state.
Rest and digest.
And it's from this state and this state alone that you are able to heal.
That you are able to receive and collect and gain clarity.
Stay here in this place of ease.
In this place of relaxation.
For as long as your body and your mind ask you to.
Have a beautiful day.
Namaste.
