Hello and welcome to a guided meditation in a 12-step tradition.
We are all travelers on this amazing and gifted life.
We are generating thoughts of awareness today,
Thoughts that will take us on a journey into the vast openness of our awareness and experience.
Awareness is just sensing,
Linking our thoughts and our body,
Our connection to everything around us.
Today will be present to the flow of experiences,
Our feelings,
Our sensations,
And our breath.
Therefore,
Let us begin with breath as we inhale and exhale,
Being aware of its coming and going,
And the space between each breath.
Being aware now of vibrations,
Our breath vibrating,
Sensations within the body,
Gentle vibrations of movement in our diaphragm,
Gentle movements of the hands or feet as we adjust ourselves,
And of stillness,
Perhaps the place where we have contact with the ground,
Sensing that the earth and everything around us is also vibrating and moving gently and slowly.
Continuing to breathe in and out,
Our attention may wander.
That's no problem,
Also part of the movement,
Vibrations,
Sounds.
Sounds may arise around us,
We accept them and the messages they bring to us,
Letting them come and go,
Just like the breath and the body,
Moving,
Pulsating,
And alive.
We accept it with gratitude and awareness.
Our meditation today will focus on a few questions,
One of them perhaps one of the most important when we're reaching out in awareness.
What would I feel like right now,
Right here,
In my body,
In my sensations,
And in my mind,
If my deepest wishes were realized,
My deepest intentions?
We'll take a few moments just to sit with that.
What would I feel like right now,
If my deepest intentions and my deepest wishes for today were realized?
Sounds may arise to you,
Such as hope,
Hopeful,
Free,
Or even relieved.
As these words arise,
We simply allow them to stay with us.
They invite us to a shift of consciousness,
To feel something more deeply and more unifying as we travel this journey.
We'll now move on to a short reflection meditation in the 12-step tradition,
As I Think,
I Travel.
As I think I travel,
And as I love,
I attract.
I am today where my thoughts have brought me.
I will be tomorrow where my thoughts take me.
I cannot escape the result of my thoughts,
But I can endure and learn from them.
I can accept them and be glad.
I realize that I will accomplish the vision of my heart,
Be it base or beautiful.
I will realize the vision of my practice,
Not the idle wish.
Or I will always gravitate towards that which I secretly most love and allow into my heart space.
Into my hands will be placed the exact result of my thoughts,
And I will receive that which I cultivate.
No more and no less.
Whatever my present environment may be,
I will move and travel and rise with those thoughts.
Those thoughts may be my vision,
My attitude,
Or my answer to the deep question,
What if my deepest wishes were realized right here and right now?
What would I be feeling?
We'll take a few moments to meditate upon this idea and travel with our thoughts,
And we will close with a quotation from the end of I Think I Travel.
And now coming back to our breath.
We travel with it,
Allowing sensations of the breath and the body to unite and flow together as one.
We become as small as our controlling desire or as great as our dominant aspiration.
