Hello,
Welcome.
Today's session is more of a primer on why meditation is important before turning on your device in the morning.
I want to implore how important it is to listen to your own voice first thing in the morning for guidance,
Wisdom,
Clarity,
And a voice that is right for you versus turning on the device to see all the incoming messages,
Conversations,
Words that may or may not resonate well in the body,
In your spirit,
In your mind.
These can toxify a perfectly pure experience in life.
And so,
We meditate to cleanse,
Meditate to cultivate,
And we really meditate to galvanize one's thoughts and energy and emotions as your own before being flooded with the thoughts of the world at large.
So consider your habits,
Your lifestyle,
Your daily routine.
And then let's talk about impulse control.
We're very habitual creatures.
We put food in our mouths habitually.
We respond and talk and react to the thoughts of the world.
We're very habitual creatures.
We're very habitual creatures.
We put food in our mouths habitually.
We respond and talk and react to incoming commentary in a reactionary way,
Habitually.
And as such in our new paradigm with our digital lifestyle,
We look,
Check,
Read,
Reach,
Research,
Write,
Communicate,
Compare.
It's really hard on our systems.
So first,
Before the onslaught of social media,
We become complete whole beings in and of our own ourselves through meditation.
That's one of the very first habits of the day.
If we can habitually do other things,
Then we can most certainly habitually integrate meditation.
So come to a comfortable seat.
Become very heavy in your body,
Slumping,
Head is upright,
Not resting back,
And your arms are dropping down,
Hands in your lap.
If you feel safe,
You're welcome to close your eyes.
Now,
We know that meditation is uncomfortable.
Being off our meditation is oftentimes worse than being off our medication.
I don't say this lightly.
Luckily,
It's cumulative.
So if the effects are cumulative,
We have to have stores of practice to fuel the days.
We may not have time or forget to meditate first.
As routine as brushing our teeth,
Eating breakfast,
Smiling at the day,
Smiling at the day.
Greeting your social counterparts.
We meditate for a healthy state of mind.
And to create a vibrant life.
And it works.
So reenact a moment where you felt compulsively reaching for the phone.
Supposedly reaching for food compulsively.
Clicking and shopping compulsively speaking.
Here we retrain the brain.
Drop into the body.
And expand the experience of simplicity and contentedness.
Soften across the chest.
Find ease in the belly.
And allow the surface of your skin to expand into a state of tingle,
Warmth,
And receptivity.
Sl vote.
I think one of the greatest skills we can ever develop is the ability to take pause.
Pause is that critical tool between action and reaction,
Saying something you might regret,
Making choice rather than habitual action.
This works in negotiation and relationships,
Behavior choices.
Very powerful tool.
This tool of pause,
As I like to say,
The great and powerful wizard of pause.
Strengthening our muscle of just being,
Getting through discomfort,
Waiting out a moment of impulse.
It will pass and you will be better for it.
Rewiring the brain in your favor.
Press down through your base,
Fill up with all that you need,
Savoring simplicity and exhaling all the complication that does not serve you.
Try it again.
Inhale,
Taking in all that you need,
Expanding into simplicity and exhaling out complication that you do not need.
Pressing your hands upon your belly,
Connecting,
Soothing and warming within.
Where did you go?
Wishing you were somewhere else,
Doing something,
Grabbing something,
Changing,
Replacing your current state.
Make this state good and juicy and tasty and everything that you're seeking.
Felt into it,
Devour it.
Thank you.
