Hello my friend and welcome to today's meditation.

This meditation is going to be a little bit different.

We're going to first start with calming our system,

Bringing a little bit of love to our nervous system,

And then it will be followed by a little pep talk to help you along the rest of today's journey.

So let's begin by closing the eyes if it feels safe to do so,

And taking a really deep inhale in through the nose and exhaling with a sigh.

And if it feels good to do so,

You can do that again,

Or this time on the inhale you can also tense up some muscles and when you sigh releasing those muscles.

So choosing whichever breath pattern feels nourishing to you in this moment.

Sometimes it feels good to have tension to then feel the release,

And sometimes it feels better to just try and have a nice exhale and soothe your muscles there.

If you can,

Try and bring your shoulders down,

Bringing your attention to your face,

Seeing if you can soften the face at all.

Often our worries show up in our eyebrows.

Perhaps you can put a gentle smile on your face,

Or maybe that doesn't feel so good,

So no need to do that.

Only do what feels nourishing for you.

If you are doing this meditation,

I'm going to take a wild guess that maybe you're having a bit of an off moment.

You need to know that there's somebody out there rooting for you,

And I'm telling you that I am rooting for you.

The collective is rooting for you,

And this moment will pass.

You know,

Often situations will follow us for a long time,

But our feelings change around them,

Our emotions change around them,

So just know that if you're not feeling okay,

That's okay.

You know,

We can always say tomorrow might be better.

We're not saying it will,

We're not saying that it has to,

But tomorrow might be better,

And we're right when we say that.

Tomorrow might be better.

A quote from a poet named Andrea Gibson says,

I said to the sun,

Tell me about the big bang.

The sun said,

It hurts to become.

Being a human is complicated,

And trying to remain open is not easy.

Being a human is complicated,

And trying to remain open to the possibilities is the best you can do.

Now,

If it feels good to do so,

Perhaps you can hold your hands,

Or even give yourself a little hug,

Whatever feels safe and good for you,

And try,

If you can,

To befriend yourself a little bit in this moment.

Often,

We are much better friends to other people than we are ourselves,

But if we can just try to befriend ourselves a little bit,

We can maybe start to treat ourselves with that same kindness.

With our friends,

We believe in them,

We root for them,

And we can do that for ourselves too.

So just know that wherever you go,

There you are,

And that's really a gift.

Know that however you're feeling is okay.

It's part of the vast human experience.

You know,

We all have our ups and downs,

Highs and lows,

And I hope that you can have peace in that,

Knowing that you're just human,

Just like everyone else.

And I hope that you feel like you're going to be okay,

And that you're being held.

Now,

Letting go of the hug or your hands,

Bring your awareness back to your breath,

Not changing it,

But just observing it.

If it feels good to do so,

Taking a really deep inhale and exhaling with a sigh,

And before going out into the world again,

Just checking in with how you're feeling.

Has anything shifted for you?

Has any emotion softened?

Just knowing that if it hasn't,

That that's okay too.

Everything is welcome here.

You are welcome here,

And I'm so glad you exist.

Take care.
