As ambitious humans, high-achievers, or simplify feeling caught in the societal hustle … we can feel this immense pressure to always be doing more. Being perpetually busy has become a badge of honour, but with it we carry heightened levels of normalized stress and the feeling that our worth is tied to the output of our work. In this meditation, we are releasing the pressure of needing to do more, as that striving for success can actually be the exact thing blocking the outcome you desire. Through this healing release, we begin to tap you into balance and wholeness within yourself so that you can open up the floodgates to flow.

Hello and welcome to this meditation on releasing the pressure to do more.

As ambitious humans,

High achievers,

Or just feeling caught in the societal hustle,

We can feel this immense pressure to do more,

To be more,

To show more,

To have more.

The way of striving for success can actually be the exact thing that blocks us from the outcome that we truly desire.

The high achiever narrative to always do more and to be perfect creates a lifestyle of heightened stress and anxiety.

And at its core,

This external pressure of more creates an internal disconnect from your innate wholeness.

Often we find ourselves striving to do more,

To fill a void,

A feeling of not-enoughness buried deep inside of ourselves.

This is by no means a fault of your own,

Dear one.

It is simply the conditioning that the world has taught us to look outside of ourselves,

To fill something that has always already been whole within.

So let's release this pressure now to come back to your wholeness and to infuse this shift back into the way that you work and show up in the world in order to feel more flow and more lightness.

Around that process.

So let us begin by connecting with the breath and taking the normal inhale and exhale and deepening it,

Expanding it,

Inhaling through the nose into the belly and chest and exhaling through the mouth,

Thinking the word release.

Again,

Inhaling deeply into the belly,

Into the chest and exhaling,

Think the word release.

On this next breath,

You might want to take note of where that feeling of not-enoughness lives in your body.

And as you inhale,

Belly,

Chest,

Sending the breath deep into that crevice,

Wherever it might be hiding,

And exhaling the word release,

Imagining with that release that you are loosening this deeply gripping belief of not-enoughness,

That this no longer needs to be yours,

No longer needs to be something that you hold or carry with you.

Inhaling belly,

Chest,

Deep into the crevice,

Deep into that corner and nook of the body,

Exhaling the word release,

Releasing it deep into the soul and center of your being,

Back to the core to that root feeling and time and moment in space where you unconsciously decided that this belief was yours,

Releasing it fully and completely now.

Now,

Bring the breath back to its natural flow of inhale and exhale,

In whatever way that feels good to you,

And reminding yourself that your breath is always here to support you,

Reminding you that you can fill yourself up fully and wholly and completely,

All on your own,

Simply through the act of a deep breath in.

Come back to your breath if ever your mind begins to wander back into the external world of doing.

Now,

In your mind's eye,

I invite you to imagine that you are floating in a river,

A beautiful crystal clear river,

And your body feels incredibly comfortable.

The water is slightly warm,

Brushing up against your skin.

However,

You feel held on top of the water,

Almost as though the energies around you are holding you so that you can completely relax on the surface of the water,

Connected to its rushing flow,

Yet able to stay completely still and relaxed.

You start to feel the water flowing through your body,

From the crown of the head as the current flows downwards,

Over your forehead,

Past your ears,

Down your neck,

Down the back of your spine,

Along your shoulders,

And down your arms,

Across your torso and the front of your body,

Of your chest,

Down your legs,

Knees,

Lower legs,

And out past your feet and toes.

As the river continues its flow,

Continue this process of noticing the water gently rushing past you again and again and again.

As you continue to do this,

Bring your attention to that point in your body that holds this pressure,

This pressure to do more.

Where does this live?

As you continue to feel the rush of the water along the outside of your body,

Start to feel the water move through your body,

Deep into that area of the body that holds this pressure.

As the water continues to flow,

Notice how the pressure of the current gently and lovingly begins to loosen the knot of this pressure within you.

With each flow of the current,

The pressure knot releases just a little more,

Releasing the pressure of all the deadlines,

Releasing the pressure of benchmarks,

Releasing the pressure of comparison,

Releasing all of the pressure to do more,

All of the ways in which you have pushed yourself to do more in ways that weren't always always loving and supportive,

In ways that made you disregard what you truly wanted.

Allow all of that to be released,

And as it releases,

Whatever comes up with it,

Allow it to be there now.

Allow the water to rush through you,

Healing any sadness or pain that might be arising once you let go.

Our overachieving tendencies,

Our perfectionism,

Our feeling of needing to do more or be further along can act like an armor,

So it's completely natural if releasing this armor might make you feel a little vulnerable or tender,

Or simply bring up emotions that you haven't had to to think about amongst all the doing.

As you lay here now in this crystal clear river,

Allowing the current to wash over you and through you,

Notice that you are in complete control here within this surrender.

The water is not only healing and clearing for you,

But it is also the vehicle that can bring you everything it is that you are wanting to create with complete ease and surrender.

Simply laying here in the river,

The water rushes past you,

Bringing to you exactly what it is that you want.

If there's anything that you've been pushing or forcing or feeling this pressure around,

Imagine it flowing to you through this river now.

The river holding you and supporting you and the waters doing the work for you.

This is what it is to be in complete flow with life,

To be held in this space.

That which you desire flows to you without proving,

Without force,

Without suffering.

You,

In this state of releasing the pressure,

Open up the floodgates for flow.

Suffering only creates resistance.

Force only creates dis-ease.

Pressure only creates constriction.

As the riverbank holds the water,

Notice that if it gripped on too tightly,

Intending to control the water too much,

It would constrict its flow.

And so we create our own blockages to our flow,

And now we let the water wash them all away to bring you the success you desire by being in flow with life,

By releasing the pressure now.

Releasing the belief that you have to do anything to be worthy of this experience.

You already are worthy.

You already are whole.

Nothing more needs to be done to make this true.

Now bask in the beauty and frequency of this reality as you watch it all flow to you.
