This is grounded aware,
Compassionate presence.
This invitation invites the body to reclaim its own sovereign identity.
The sensing is reclaiming itself back,
Appreciating from its perspective its own sovereign quality of being,
Which I would call presence,
With a big P,
Presence.
And often something in this experience is living away from that.
In other words,
It's living in the head.
And that's okay.
We honour that.
We honour its brilliance.
And yet there's so much more.
There's so much more than that brilliance and the trouble that it can bring,
The stuckness and the difficulties of repetitive thinking,
Of generalised,
Deleted and distorted perception.
So we can give that space,
That one there that lives in the head space,
In the whole of this and find a sense of increasing peace,
Flow,
Meaning,
Ease,
Play,
Joy,
Resilience,
Connection,
Freedom.
And what's this body inviting?
It's inviting connection all the time.
So let's just pause and sensing into the pause,
Allowing the body to sense its connection with the earth.
Mother Earth,
Always available at all times.
Mother Earth,
She who gave us life,
Formed of stardust.
We too are stardust.
So we resonate with the earth tangibly,
Sensing your feet and the seat beneath you,
Letting the body rest in this contact,
Resting in this contact,
Earthing and grounding,
And there's more.
Perhaps you can sense the emergence of the whole body sensing itself,
Being available to the shape of your body,
The contours,
The surfaces,
The movement,
The temperature,
Fabric of clothing on the skin,
Here and there,
As the body notices the breathing,
Body breathing,
Flowing in and flowing out,
Inviting,
Soothing and calming.
It's as if we're being breathed by the universe.
That infinite sea of stars and galaxies breathing us,
Breathing us all,
Grounded,
Aware.
And what else is the body aware of?
This space,
These sounds,
Whole body sensing.
And sure,
There can be thinking,
It's okay.
So here we invite compassion,
A gentleness,
A warmth,
A care,
Just to let the thinking be there as the body senses the ground as well,
Embodied sensing.
So just inviting a quality of kindness with each in and out breath,
Compassion.
We might not feel these feelings,
But we can have an attitude,
Which is open and gentle.
Something in us may be raw or tender or constricted or trapped,
Or indeed open and playful,
Spacious,
Or there may be a lot of not knowing.
So with compassion,
With care,
With gentleness and tenderness,
We greet what's inside of us from this grounded,
Spacious sense of ourselves.
Maybe placing your hand on your tummy or chest,
Just to meet these parts more compassionately.
We can just say quietly to it,
Hello,
Oh,
It's like that for you right now.
It hurts a bit,
Or it's a bit stressed out,
Or it's brimming with joy.
Or a mixture,
Grounded,
Aware,
Compassionate,
Tender.
Perhaps as a metaphor or a symbol that represents compassion,
Like the sun,
Those gorgeous orange warm rays on the skin,
Permeating the whole body,
Bringing warmth and healing,
All like a deep lake,
Turquoise blue,
Clear,
Emerald green,
Deep cool waters of healing,
Breathing it all in,
Keeping us company.
Perhaps we can sense the unmet needs or the met needs behind these feelings,
Safety and security,
Peace,
Love,
Care,
Freedom and space,
Play and fun,
Love and closeness,
Learning and growth,
Authenticity,
Power,
Control,
To be vulnerable,
Connection,
Grounded,
Aware,
Compassionate presence,
Inviting the body to rest in the breathing,
Very gently,
With the whole of this as it is,
This spacious,
Grounded sense of self,
Holding gently what's here,
Letting it rest in itself,
The sovereign nature of the sensing body,
Reclaiming and holding the whole of this as it is,
Resting here.
