Finding your way towards a comfortable position that feels best for you at this time.
Whether you'd like to be seated or even lying down or using any props that support you.
If it feels right for you and is available to you at this time,
Maybe you'd like to close your eyes or you can just soften the muscles around the eyes and beginning to settle in.
Today I'll be guiding you through a meditation where we will observe the breath and the natural processes of the body,
Honoring them and putting our thoughts to the side for a few minutes.
Begin to notice your breath as it moves in and out of your body.
As you become aware of your breath and its movement,
Just notice how it happens without you having to think about it or do anything to make it happen.
Your body is simply breathing in and out and your mind doesn't have to tell it what to do.
Let's try just sitting with this for a minute,
Observing,
Noticing and being with the natural state of the breath without trying to do anything.
Thank you.
Now,
See if you can notice anything deeper.
Are you aware of more subtle sensations of your body?
See if you can notice different things happening in your body.
Different feelings,
Different movements perhaps.
You're starting to turn your focus a little bit further inward.
There are so many natural processes taking place at this time and your body knows exactly how to make them happen.
Whether it's the movement of your breath in and out of your body,
The beating of your heart,
The pumping of your blood,
The growing of a baby,
The birth of a baby,
Your body knows what to do.
Sometimes our thoughts can get in the way.
Let's take a few moments to just observe the thoughts as they come up.
Try not to judge or get too caught up in certain thoughts.
Instead,
Try to let them come and go just like clouds passing by in the sky.
Anytime that you get pulled away or distracted,
Just label it as a thought and try to bring your attention back to observing.
Over time,
You may find that this gets easier.
And when you feel ready,
Taking one more deep conscious breath,
Take it in through the nose if that feels okay,
Filling up as completely as you can.
And when you're ready,
Exhale,
Release the breath,
Maybe out through the mouth,
Some hand,
Letting go of anything that no longer serves you.
If you close your eyes for this practice,
When you feel ready,
Slowly blinking them open.
Thank you for joining me for this practice today.
