Welcome to this guided meditation.
I'm Nora Speakman.
Today I want to talk about harboring things,
Keeping them within us,
Or taking the opportunity to release,
To just let things flow.
So I want us to start just by getting comfy,
Whether you are laying down or sitting down.
I've met more people now who actually like to stand.
They feel more of an energy flow throughout their body.
So whatever is comfortable for you,
I just want you to get in a space where you receive this gift of being present together.
And as you do that,
I want us to just take some deep breaths.
We breathe in,
Hold,
And release.
And as we prepare ourselves with our breath,
I just want you to notice the different sounds in the room that you're in.
Just be aware of them.
Just take in your environment.
And as you do your breath work in preparation,
I just want you to notice without judgment the thoughts that come to your mind.
Just notice and be aware.
Follow them if you like.
See where they take you.
This is a time of just being.
There is no right or wrong.
It's a safe space.
I want you to think about when seasons pass,
When things are changing in our environment,
In our life,
There are things that collect,
Much like pollen collects on things in the spring or in the fall until the rains come and wash away.
All of that.
Sometimes birds will pick up the seeds from that pollen and deposit it somewhere else and suddenly there's a beautiful plant growing.
Sometimes this excess will grow over paths and disintegrate in time.
The same is true with us.
Our goals,
Our dreams can collect like that pollen,
Like those seeds,
Until we make those things manifest.
But life can come and wash away those things that we've tried to plant.
And like fallen leaves,
Our memories can cover those paths until they're remembered and we get to set them free.
So as you're relaxing,
I want you to consider what have you harbored,
What have you kept safe that has been longing to be set free?
What dreams,
What goals,
What passions and purpose have you collected instead of creating?
Sometimes because of a fear of failing,
We resist,
Which makes us hard.
It makes things like iron or steel and we don't enter into flow where things just become part of us and expressive.
Our feelings can become very hard and we end up living inside of ourselves like a home in need of love and care and windows that look out and they're grimy and dirty and we're waiting for love to come with gentle hands,
To cover over us,
To wash us clean so that we can see with clarity.
I want you to think about those experiences that we've been afraid to create,
Experiences that end up covering us over rather than being part of our expressive journey to come to light and to come to life.
And I want you to give yourself permission.
I want you to give yourself some love and some patience because for us as humans,
The process of living can just make us repeatedly hold on to things rather than releasing them with open hands.
And harboring things rather than making us whole actually builds almost,
If you can think of a harbor,
Like tiny ports where we begin to park things rather than allowing them to be in a river that flows or on the ocean that just goes.
So as we are laying here sitting or standing in this relaxed experience,
I want you to visualize releasing all those goals,
All those dreams.
I want you to visualize deconstructing the ports that have long held those beautiful experiences.
I want you to,
As you breathe,
I want you to think about creating that flow that is real between what is taken in and what we let out.
Breathe in and remember we are living inlet.
We receive experiences.
We receive even surprises and even challenges.
And we release heartache.
We release the hardness.
It's like a constant flow of waves that come in.
Life rushes in,
But in a constant release we must let it all run back off again.
We must set ourselves free.
We must experience the flow.
So as you consider and as you breathe deeply,
I want you to think about that visualization and then I want you to name those things that are going back out to flow now and how are you going to create?
How are those things going to come to pass?
How are those places that were so parked going to become viable?
And even as you draw the end of this practice with me,
I want you to carry that thought throughout your day in your heart.
And even as you enter,
Rest tonight.
I want you to breathe deeply and just imagine those things coming to life and remembering that it's okay.
I want you to have excitement about all that is to come.
So as you're ready,
I want you to just gently allow yourself more deep breaths.
And I want you to experience a loving embrace for yourself and joy.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes and begin to experience going back into your day.
Grateful for your presence and your time and I look forward to meditating with you all again very soon.
