Taken from the Live Webinar Event on the 1st September 2021 || Most people I speak to (including past me!) are stuck in the head, thinking mode. I have gained the wisdom of the importance of moving out of my own way so that i can truly allow something powerful to work through me. Einstein's greatest power was his intuition/imagination - not his intellectual mind. I talk about slowing down, surrendering, and allowing insight to come to you, rather than you desperately going for it (intellect!).

Okay,

So we are talking today about surrendering the mind and accessing inner clarity.

And the things that people have mentioned so far,

It's basically the opposite of thinking mode.

Is this knowing that actually I don't need to think about this.

I don't need to think about it.

I just know that this feeling inside is true.

But the challenge is that there is like a tiny voice,

A quiet voice.

It's like a whisper in the ear.

But then there is a loud voice on this other ear with logic and knowledge.

Past experiences.

Saying,

Hey,

No,

No,

No,

This is what you should do.

This is a safe,

On paper,

Good idea.

Or this is dangerous,

This is scary,

Don't do that.

Remember what happened last time?

You know that voice?

And maybe it's not even remember what happened last time sometimes.

Sometimes it's do you remember that time when you were younger?

And you're not even conscious of this pattern happening sometimes.

It's like that voice is going on underneath the surface of,

Yeah,

I remember when Raj was younger,

He had challenges with this.

So,

Yeah,

You better not do that.

So we only see the conscious part,

Which is don't do that.

This is dangerous.

This is scary.

We don't see the algorithm,

The formula that creates that.

And the formula that creates that is hidden somewhere beneath the surface.

It's the memories,

It's the thinking,

It's the knowledge.

And it hides and it says,

Hey,

No,

This is dangerous.

You,

Feeling of intuition,

Don't know anything.

I know more than you.

It's a powerful force.

So when I call this session,

How to surrender the mind to access inner clarity,

Is because we're stuck.

It's like there's a roadblock in the way,

Which is the thinking mode,

Which I just talked about,

The thinking mode.

The patterns,

The memories.

That's in the way.

And we believe that.

So we become in our own way,

You know.

We choose.

And sometimes we don't choose because it's unconscious,

It's a habit,

It's a pattern.

But a part of us is choosing,

Right?

So when I say surrender,

I think it's the practice of building faith in,

Hey,

This little quiet voice.

Maybe I'll listen to it.

Maybe I'll listen to it.

Let me give it a shot.

And here's my experience.

I'm going to go into a bit of my background.

Actually,

In the chat,

Tell me if this is the first event that you've come to with me.

Just so I get a background,

Because I know there's a lot of people here who are familiar as well.

But my background is that I was convinced that this loud thinking voice was me.

I didn't even know what this thing is called clarity that you guys have talked about.

If I had come to this event back then,

I would have been like,

What are they talking about?

What did they mean into intuition?

Is that just a word that people just make up?

I would have been a doubter and a non-believer because I was ruled by the thinking mind.

And what it did was it caused a lot of suffering for me from the earliest I can remember,

Really.

I was trying to control everything.

Control,

Control.

Know,

Know everything.

I need to know everything.

I need to control everything.

I need to prove myself.

I need to be better.

How I am is not complete yet.

So I have to do something to be better.

That's all I knew.

That's how I lived.

So it took forms of,

For example,

When I was younger,

I would look at other people and I would just try and be like them.

Because I thought,

Yeah,

That person's cool.

That person's doing things well.

I want to be like them.

And then as I got older,

That stayed,

Of course.

But then it turned into,

Okay,

What can I do to try and fill this gap and be like everyone else?

Okay,

Let me make sure I look good in appearance.

Let me look good in appearance.

Great.

I started looking good in appearance,

Taking care of my appearance.

And then I thought,

Okay,

Let me do things that I can show off about.

Because I can show others as well that look at me.

Yeah,

Look at me.

So that would be in the forms of,

I don't know,

Trying to outdo others.

Competing,

Competition.

It would be things like jobs.

It would be relationships.

It would be muscles.

Even with close friends,

I'd still be comparing.

This happens.

This is how we've grown up.

We grew up in a school system which is teaching us to do exams.

To be better than everyone else.

So it's just how we've grown up.

It's not our fault.

But what I'm saying is that that voice inside that we talked about earlier,

We don't get used to it.

We don't get training for it.

We don't really know what it is.

No one tells us how this works.

Whereas we are told how the thinking mind works our whole lives.

So we become used to it.

So it's no wonder why we're stuck in thinking mode,

Right?

Does that make sense?

That's how I see it.

So a bit more background about me.

I continued on that path.

But I had challenges with social anxiety mostly.

Well,

That was just the,

Let's call it the surface level manifestation of what was really going on underneath.

Which was doubting myself.

Fears of not being good enough.

Comparing.

Anxiety.

Worries.

External living,

Really.

I'm sure many of you can relate.

So then I went on this path of going inside.

Got into health and fitness first.

And that became my going inside thing.

Because it was like,

Yeah,

If I train and lift weights,

I feel something inside feels good.

But that also fed my ego.

It fed my ego in some ways.

But then I got into yoga and let's just call it spirituality.

Or just the inner game.

The inner game,

Right?

And I realized,

Wow,

There's so many things I didn't know about myself.

I didn't know that this social anxiety thing meant that I have issues with my own self worth.

I just thought it was this thing where I go and I feel uncomfortable.

So I went on this path,

Really learned about myself.

Really figured out what's going on here.

Started improving the way I see the world.

Change the way I see the world.

Because when you change the way you see the world,

Everything looks different.

Right?

For example,

You go for a walk and you are glistening sunshine and you're just there.

You're just there.

It could be the same exact road that you walk down every day.

But there's one time you are really there and you're feeling good.

So it looks different.

It feels different.

Because you're seeing it differently and you're slowing down.

There's not this busyness going on.

Right?

So I continued and I.

.

.

Let's just zoom forward and I realized that this other part of me is actually the real thing.

It took a while.

I started doing yoga.

I started with health and fitness about 10 years ago.

Yoga about 7 years ago.

But I didn't really know what I was doing.

I was just dabbling and playing and I was still having my unconscious patterns going on at the same time.

I was like.

.

.

Nothing really was changing massively.

Only when I really went into the depths of myself and understood this inner part of me that I became free.

Like I still have this mind that we talked about buzzing away.

It's not dead.

I don't want it to be dead because I might need it someday.

Right?

But like I said earlier,

It's taking the wheel of the car.

Who's driving the car?

You take the wheel of the car.

This thing that everyone's mentioned in the chat about clarity,

Intuition.

Yeah,

That's because the driver is at the wheel of the car now.

That's how you get clarity when you tap into that part of yourself.

But the most powerful lesson,

Or let's say one of the most powerful lessons which I really want to share today,

Is surrender.

Letting go.

Letting go of the control.

Letting go of having to know everything.

Having to plan everything out.

Having to prepare everything in advance.

And I had this experiment with myself,

I think it was last year or so,

Or earlier,

I don't know.

Where I said,

For 30 days,

I am going to not plan anything.

And I had these talks I was preparing.

I had to like come and present in front of people.

I was coaching people.

I had to hold coaching sessions.

And I made this rule,

For 30 days I'm not going to prepare anything.

I'm just going to show up.

And trust that something will guide me.

I didn't even know what it was.

I was just playing,

Right?

I was just playing with this thing.

And then I showed up,

And I showed up much better than I could have if I had planned.

Because what I found in the past was,

The more I planned,

The more I had a chance of not meeting my own expectations.

Because plan is like,

Hey I have this expectation of what will happen.

And then when it happens,

When you're in the moment,

It's like this chase of measuring up to that expectation.

And this cuts across everything.

This cuts across relationships,

Conversations with someone,

Your health goals.

This cuts across everything in life.

When there's this grip,

This gripping onto expectation,

It increases your alertness to demand yourself to meet that expectation.

And that can be good sometimes,

But when the alertness is turning into fear and worry,

Then you crumble.

Your expectation doesn't get met.

You're crumbling in terms of your inner state,

You're worrying about it.

And then it becomes this pattern.

That's what happened to me.

It became a pattern of continuous fear.

Fear of fears,

You know?

So that challenge,

If anyone wants to try it,

Send me a message and I'll tell you what I did.

I'll tell you the rules of it.

It's not as crazy and as hard as you think actually.

It's just every time I sense this need to control,

This need of like,

You know,

You better,

You gotta prepare.

What if something goes wrong?

I felt this resistance and this tension come up.

I just paused and I took a breath and I said,

No,

I committed 30 days to not do this.

Let's just do it for 30 days.

See what happens.

So I want to challenge you.

If you want to try this challenge,

Send me a message and I'll tell you exactly how to do it.

I've actually got a written story about how it went for me and what you have to do if you want to do it.

So let me know.

Surrendering is key because do you know what happens?

And I put this briefly in the description,

I think something goes through you that is beyond you.

And if someone had said this to me a while back,

I would have been like,

What the hell are you talking about?

So I want to respect that.

I want to respect that and explain a little bit more.

When out of the thinking mode,

The mind mode,

Analytical,

The planning,

The tension of it,

We go into like pure intuition and creativity.

Pure.

Because then,

Like you guys said,

Something has to come up.

This intelligence comes up.

And this intelligence is the intelligence that created everything in this world.

Thinking didn't do that.

Because thinking is using the same knowledge as we already have.

Intellect.

Intellectual is using the same knowledge that we already have.

Imagine I had this box.

Let's say I had a box.

In the old days they had CDs.

Imagine I stored everything I knew on CDs.

And then a new situation came up.

And I said,

Okay,

Let me look at my CDs and see if I have any information on these CDs which can help me with the future thing.

To some extent that would be useful.

I'm not completely disregarding this.

To some extent that would be useful.

Because you've gained some kind of wisdom perhaps.

But when you are doing things that are brand new,

That feel out of your comfort zone,

That feel like you don't have any information to support this,

This information of CDs doesn't tell you what to do with this.

This is why indecision and challenges come up.

When we want to try something new.

Because we use the intellect,

We use the stored memories,

We use the past to try and predict.

It doesn't make sense.

The CDs don't have anything on them,

Sorry.

They don't have anything that's going to help you with that.

So we try,

We try,

We use our brains,

We use our thinking.

Let me try and figure this out,

Let me try and figure this out.

No.

The computer says no.

It says no,

I have nothing for you.

So we continue,

We try and figure it out.

Then what do we do?

We go and ask other people.

What would you do in this situation?

What would you do?

Let me research on the internet,

Let me get more information.

Again,

Some of this is useful.

I'm not completely disregarding research.

Because I still do some of that sometimes.

But for certain situations,

Things that are very close to our lives,

Like for example relationships,

Like career moves,

For understanding our deepest desires and finding more meaning in life.

Yeah,

You can't use the intellect.

So this is where the creative part comes in.

But we have to move out of the way.

We have to move the intellect,

The thinking out of the way.

And that's the challenging part.

Because like I said at the beginning of this talk,

We've been brought up to use thinking for everything.

It's like if I had a hammer and I tried to use the hammer to eat my cereal every morning.

I'm like oh yeah,

All I know is how to use this hammer.

Let me get this hammer.

Okay cereal,

Eat,

Eat.

No,

Hammer doesn't work for everything.

So creativity comes in when we surrender.

When we surrender we say yes,

I don't need to know.

I don't need to figure this out.

I'm going to trust that it's going to come to me.

I'm going to trust these little quiet voices are going to tell me something.

And that is what you guys might have called intuition.

Some people might call it something else,

Spirit.

Some people might call it God,

If that's what you prefer.

Some people might call it the universe.

Some people might call it something else.

But I hope you're getting what I mean when I say this.

Surrender and then that thing can come through you.

Because you move out of the way.

And what does surrender mean?

You can surrender when you slow down.

Because when we're moving so fast and we're thinking and we're in that motion,

Frantic.

It's hard to activate the other part that I just said.

God,

Higher consciousness,

Universe,

Whatever you want to call that.

Heart.

It's hard.

Because it's a quiet voice.

You can only hear quiet voices when you really listen.

And you can only really listen when you really concentrate.

When you're really present.

Not even concentrate actually.

Because that's work.

You can only hear the quiet voice when your awareness is high.

When you're present.

That's why there's all these books about become present,

The power of now.

Because you're really just learning to access another part of yourself which is not really yourself.

It's this intelligence coming through you.

And again,

If someone would have said to me,

What do you mean coming through you?

I would have said,

Like old me would have said,

What do you mean coming through you?

What does that even mean?

The simplest way I would describe that is effortless.

Effortless knowing.

The silence.

Silent wisdom.

Thinking is like fast and it feels like a bumpy ride.

It feels like a brawl.

Whereas this intuition and knowing higher consciousness just comes.

It's like boom.

Boom.

It's there.

I didn't have to do anything.

It just came.

Wow.

Flash of insight sometimes people call it.

When you surrender,

You get to do that.

When you're relaxed.

When you're calm.

When you're present,

You get to do that.

That's why when I teach,

I don't focus on relaxing as the goal.

That's a bonus.

That's a great bonus.

But really I'm trying to teach people how to access this higher intelligence.

Because from that place,

You can do anything.

You can create whatever you want.

You're fearless.

Or maybe not even fearless.

You're aware of the fears,

The thinking mind.

But you're courageous.

You're courageous enough to hear the other voice and say I'm going to go for it.

I want to do it.

I hear the doubts.

I hear the fears.

Yeah,

They're scaring me.

Wow.

They scare me so much.

But this other thing is saying let's go.

Let's go.

Let's go.

So surrender comes in many forms.

For some people it might literally mean to pray.

And the old me would have been against this.

Again,

I'm talking about the old me a lot just so you guys realize.

I didn't just wake up like this.

I was a very different person before.

I was very anxious,

Very challenged.

I had to develop this awareness I guess.

But it's not as hard as you think.

The old me would have said no.

I don't believe in this prayer stuff.

That's like weird religious things.

But really the act of prayer,

Just the act.

Forget the religions and whatever it's made of.

Just the act of prayer is saying hey,

I let go of me.

I let go of what I think and I have faith in something else that is not me.

That's all it is.

Prayer.

It's saying I have faith in something else.

Some people might go and say yeah,

God please help me.

God please give me this.

Again,

That's having faith that there's something else.

That's saying there's something bigger than me.

So that's great.

So I'm not against religions in that sense,

In the deepest sense of what they really mean and what they're trying to represent.

Let's not go to the subject of all the other details.

Let's put that to the side.

That's one way you can surrender.

Because it makes sense doesn't it?

And that's how I talk.

I talk very logically as you can see.

Logical inner growth.

It's not difficult.

You don't have to do any special rituals.

It doesn't have to be extreme spirituality.

Which is like oh I have to go and do these retreats and do these amazing plant medicine and all this stuff that's out there.

Simple stuff.

Prayer.

But if you're not into prayer,

I don't actually pray in that sense but gratitude is also a prayer in a way.

It's saying I'm so grateful for this life.

I'm grateful for these people.

I'm grateful for these things.

That's another way to surrender.

Saying look,

Look how life turned out.

You feel it in your heart.

The heart is where you really are surrendering.

Out of the head.

Other ways to surrender are doing meditations.

Various forms.

It doesn't have to be a special form.

Although people might sometimes get caught up in that.

And the reason why I say that is because people ask me a lot of times what type of meditation is best.

And whatever you're going to do is best.

Whatever you're going to do is just the best.

Doesn't matter if you know the fundamentals.

The fundamental is meditation is you saying to your thinking mind that I'm not going to react to you.

We sit in meditation to observe it.

We sit and we hear the thoughts.

A lot of people say to me I'm not really good at meditation.

I can't stop the thinking.

I can't slow it down.

That's fine.

You're not there to stop it.

If you were trying to stop it,

You'll get so far away from what you're trying to get.

So meditation is just sit.

Just go and sit on the floor.

That's what I say to most people.

I just say go and sit.

I'm not even going to call it meditation if that sounds too complicated for some people.

Because then they get and they say I have to be like this Buddha and be in a perfect zen position.

No,

Just go and sit.

Watch your thoughts coming up to you.

And telling you you've got to do this,

You've got to do that,

You're going to do this,

What about this,

What about that,

What about this,

What about that.

It's so fast.

Watch it.

Because then you're literally programming your mind,

Neuroscience has proven this,

You're programming your mind to say hey I'm not going to react to your program.

I'm just going to watch you.

What does mind do then?

It says ah,

Well,

You've been following me and doing what I've said for your whole life.

I'm going to make this so difficult for you.

I'm going to make these thoughts even louder just to prove to you that you have to listen to me.

It's like if you cut your finger,

Blood will come out,

Right?

Blood will come out.

You can feel in pain.

You can worry about the pain and that will make it worse.

Just like with meditation,

When we think about oh I'm not slowing down,

It makes it worse.

So just watch.

Mind will say hey,

I'm not going to let you slow down.

I'm going to make you listen to me.

So you listen.

Eventually,

Eventually,

It's very resistant,

It's very strong.

So I'm not saying this will happen quickly.

It might for some people.

But eventually it will say okay,

You're not listening to me so I've got to change the program.

I've got to slow you down a little bit because you're becoming calmer.

Okay,

This is going to become who you are now.

And that's how it worked for me.

I programmed it.

I showed it who's really in the driving seat.

I'm not a passenger anymore of my life.

You know,

A passenger who's just getting driven along by a mad driver.

A mad driver who's like,

You know,

Driving recklessly.

Have you ever been in a car with one of your friends and then all your family members and they're just driving like crazy and you're just sitting there fearful.

You're like why are you driving like this?

You nearly killed us just now.

I've had that with a few people and I'm just like what the hell man,

I'm not safe in your car,

Slow down.

Being a passenger,

You're out of control,

You can do nothing about it.

It's not fun at all.

So you take the wheel back.

That's literally what you're doing when you're meditating.

You're saying look,

I'm going to show you who's boss.

That's what you do when you do a lot of these things.

Like I do a lot of breathing exercises.

I do yoga.

That's discipline mode.

That's one school of looking at it.

It depends how you look at it.

But then there's also Zen,

Which some of you guys might be aware of,

Which is you're not trying to discipline it.

You're not trying to push it.

You're just being with everything.

Both of them are the same really,

But there's just different ways of looking at it.

So that's also how you surrender.

You slow down.

You do things that help you slow down.

And you give permission for that other thing to come through you.

You're inviting it almost.

You're saying hey,

It's safe.

It's safe,

You can come in now.

It reminds me of,

I don't know what I'm thinking about,

But imagine your lights come on in the back of your house and if you have someone in the house with you who's kind of scared,

Like oh,

What's going on?

I'm scared.

Someone's going to break in.

You're saying no,

It's safe.

It's safe.

It's okay.

Everything's good.

When you give yourself that feeling of safety,

Slow down,

Calm,

Presence,

Everything's good.

Only then can this thing come into you,

This intuition,

This god mode,

Whatever you want to call it,

Higher consciousness,

Knowing.

Only then can it come in.

It's not going to come in when you're erratic and fearful.

So that's the key.

Do things that are going to help you slow down and then once you are slowed down,

Then you can fully surrender.

You can fully let go.

So whatever that is for you,

Go for a walk.

Norrish yourself well as well,

Right?

Norishing yourself with good foods and good people,

Good energies,

Good things that you like to do,

Things that make you smile.

And then you just feel good.

You slow down.

Once you're in those states,

Yeah,

Surrender.

Once you surrender,

Yeah,

That's when the best insights come to you.

And I remember reading something about Einstein,

Right?

When I was younger,

I thought Einstein was like,

Yeah,

He's a genius,

Right?

Everyone knows that.

He's a genius.

I thought,

Yeah,

He's just this guy who writes formulas on things and he knows a lot of math and he knows a lot of like scientific formulas and all that crap.

That's what it's perceived sometimes as.

But Einstein was one of the masters of intuition.

He used to sit in bathtubs for hours so his whole body relaxed.

Because then he'd get these flashes of insight,

Intuition.

His wife used to say,

You know,

People coming to his house and his wife used to say to the guests,

Oh,

Yeah,

He'll be down in maybe an hour.

And they were like,

What?

What's he doing in there?

And then she'd say,

Yeah,

He does this a lot.

He just goes in the bathtub to calm himself down and get these flashes of insight.

That's where he got all of this intelligence from.

It wasn't like thinking about everything.

He had to tap into something more than just logic.

Logic takes you from A to B.

Because that's all you know.

You know the patterns.

Oh,

A to B.

Okay,

Great.

A to B.

But imagination,

Creativity,

Intuition,

All clubbed in the same thing,

Different words.

Those things take you in every direction.

Those things come to you.

You don't have to go to it.

Thinking is going to things,

Chasing,

Chasing,

Chasing,

Chasing.

Whereas intuition is coming to you from every direction.

You don't even know,

You can't even guess it.

There's no way to guess it.

You can't predict it.

So do what you can that calms your body down and then surrender to the process.

Have faith and trust that,

Yeah,

Something will come through.

But don't do it logically.

That's the challenge.

Don't do it logically and say,

Yeah,

I'm going to have this process of do this,

Do this,

Do this.

And then intuition comes.

Because then you're entangled in the trap of thought again.

You see?

That's why it's hard.

That's why this kind of intelligence doesn't come so easy to everyone.

But it's not hard either.

So that's all I'm going to say guys.

I've been talking non-stop for a while and I told you once I go into a flow,

I'm just going into a flow and I don't stop.

Because like I said during this whole talk,

Something is coming through me.

I don't have to think about what I'm going to say.

It's just coming.

It's just flowing.

Effortless.

Non-stop.

Because thinking is out of the picture.

If I need thinking,

If I need to solve some finances or if I need to grab that hammer for a moment,

I'll say,

Okay,

Where's that hammer?

I need that hammer right now.

Okay,

Here's the hammer.

Let me go and solve some financial problems.

Great.

Let me put the hammer down now.

I don't need it anymore.

You know?

Let me put it in its drawer again.

It becomes the servant,

The tool,

Instead of thinking being the you and you being its servant.

That doesn't feel nice,

Does it?

Everyone knows that feeling.

Being consumed by thoughts.

That's where I lived,

Like I said.

I lived there for my whole life.

Consumed.

Compulsive behaviors.

And I'd have to drink a lot of alcohol and numb myself to try and feel like I've slowed down.

Or I'd just do random stuff like play computer games to try and slow down.

Or binge on Netflix series to try and calm my mind.

But I was just throwing more crap into my mind doing that.

So when I say surrender,

It's going into like silence,

Really.

It's slowing down into silence.

And then surrendering and having faith.

It's almost like if you were to jump off a cliff.

Well,

Actually,

I shouldn't say that.

Okay,

Let's say you jump onto your bed backwards like this.

Having faith that you are going to land,

Right?

Having faith that you're going to land.

Or you're going to get wings.

Even better.

And the role I really play as a coach is people come to me with all these challenges and these fears and doubts.

And my role is just to show them this part of themselves that can do it.

To help them tap into this part that will do whatever they want.

And I'm not just aligned to,

Oh yeah,

Let's have spiritual freedom and all of that.

That is what's driving all of this,

I guess.

Even though I don't like to use the word spiritual too much.

That's what's driving all this.

But whatever it is,

Like people come to me saying I want to create a business.

People come to me saying I want to figure out what to do with my career.

People say I want to find more meaning to my life.

I want to work on my health.

I want to have better relationships with people around me.

Is all I'm working with the same formula,

Or let's not even use formula perhaps,

The same way of looking at it,

Is if you can slow down,

We will create whatever you want.

All of that stuff,

That will happen if you're in the right being mode.

If you're in the right being mode,

The doing stuff becomes the fun part.

We'll do that and you'll have a smile on your face while you do it.

Or maybe not always.

So that's really what I do.

That's what I help people with,

Is to get into this place where effortless comes through.

Flow people call it.

There's that book called Flow.

But I think this is more than flow.

Flow still feels like to me a heady concept.

It feels a bit too heady and there's diagrams in there and this is how you get into flow,

All of that.

It's similar to that but I think this is way more powerful.

This is tapping into your full potential,

Your higher intelligence.

So that's what I do.

And if anyone has challenges,

If anyone has something they want to work on,

Let me know.

Drop me a message,

Write to me.

Write to me on Insight Timer,

Write to me on Instagram,

Whatever you like.

Because there's probably something I can send you,

A document,

A video I've made,

I've got a bunch of video resources.

Or we have a conversation.

We talk about how to get you wherever you want to get to.

How to create whatever you want to create.

How to slow down,

How to do whatever.

If you're coming from this state we talked about today,

That's the work.

That part is the biggest work.

From there it's like okay,

Anything is possible,

Literally.

So,

I'm going to pause there.

I'm going to pause there.

And I want to know what you guys have been thinking.

You've been here,

Listening to me,

Listening to my flow,

Let's call it,

Even though I don't like the word flow.

Listening to my sharings,

My teachings.

What comes up for you now?

What are your questions?

So yeah,

Baths are awesome because your whole body relaxes if you force it to relax.

There's no way you can't relax in a whole bath with some salts and whatever you put in there.

So that's why this thing called yoga exists.

Yoga and other practices.

Because it's helping you slow your body down.

It's helping you to awaken the energy that's inside.

The non-physical energy.

That's the only reason I do it.

I don't do it to become flexible.

That's actually not even yoga.

That's gymnastics.

That's what my first yoga teacher said to me.

She's like,

If you're not breathing and synchronizing your breath properly,

Then you're doing gymnastics,

Raj.

And I was like,

Hmm,

Yeah,

I want to remember that one.

And I have for the last 8 years.

So that's the practice.

That's why these things happen.

And even walking,

The movement,

The actual dynamics that are happening in your body when you walk is a hypnotic movement that is happening.

The way you're moving is a hypnotic movement.

And they've said that,

Neuroscientists have said that,

The pattern of movement when you walk makes you feel like you're moving forward with your life.

That's why we all love to walk.

Amazing,

Right?

When I heard that,

I was like,

Wow,

That makes sense.

So whatever it is,

Slowing yourself down,

Tapping into that quietness by using your body is a very powerful way to do it.

Because,

For example,

If you were tense in body,

In mind,

And you try and go and sit and meditate,

It's very difficult.

Because you've got all this nervous energy going on.

Jumpiness.

Or you try and meditate when you've just come from something really busy.

You try and sit down and you're like,

Okay,

I'm going to spend 10 minutes here.

And then the first 7 minutes are your body trying to slow down.

And then the last 3 minutes is you knowing that there's only 3 minutes left.

So you get nothing from it sometimes.

Because it's like,

I've just slowed down.

I've been in the process of slowing down.

And then I know that I'm only doing it for 10 minutes,

So your mind kicks in there.

So if you use your body and slow down,

That's a great way to ease your nervous system.

And the breath,

Of course,

The breath is the most powerful way to ease yourself,

To focus on the breath.

You don't even have to do anything sometimes.

Just watching it.

Or,

Before you meditate,

You can just take some long deep breathing and then just go and meditate and do nothing.

Watch it.

So all I'm saying is,

Yeah,

Using the body is powerful.

And that's how I mastered it.

Because I was very body focused for a long time.

So it's like,

I took all the body focusing I knew about body building and running and performance and I started applying it and almost modeling it to this whole spiritual energy.

And then learnt all of the intelligence behind it,

The technology behind it,

By experimenting on myself.

So play,

Experiment with yourself.

There's no right or wrong way to do this.

If you're learning.

But if you're doing things and nothing's changing in your life because you're doing this stuff,

Nothing's changing,

You're meditating,

You're doing everything that I've said,

Nothing's changing.

Then that's something to look at.

That's something to look at.

To see what's happening.

What are you missing?

What's your blind spot?

And that's why people come to me sometimes.

Because they want to know,

What am I doing wrong?

I feel like I'm doing everything right.

And I'll help them find those blind spots.

The things that they can't see yet.

Because everyone has them.

I have blind spots still.

It's catching yourself out and refining and moving forward.

Because then the change becomes exponential.

Because instead of spending all your time doing something in a non-efficient way,

You craft it.

And then that ten minutes becomes so powerful,

Becomes like spending longer than ten minutes.

Because you're crafting it around you and your needs and how you work.

See what I mean?

So,

That's all I'm going to speak about today.

And hopefully that helps you in terms of learning about surrender and why it's so important.

Because we're accessing another part of ourselves when we surrender.

We're allowing that to come through.

We're allowing like a million times more intelligence than we had when we were thinking.

Because it's rapid.

It's quick.

It's quick,

Quick,

Quick,

Quick.

It's quick intelligence.

It's quick insights.

They come to you without you having to put in all this effort.

It's quick.

And you're just there.

And you know it's true.

And you're just going to run with it.

That's it.

That's powerful.

So when you surrender,

You allow that kind of stuff to come.

Using the body,

Using the breath,

Slowing yourself down,

Giving yourself space,

Giving yourself the opportunity to surrender.

That's when it will happen.

So,

I'm going to leave the talk as that.

I'm going to stop the recording there.
