Find a comfortable seated position and when you are ready gently close your eyes.
Direct your attention to your breath.
Release the air and prana energy entering and exiting your nostrils.
Allow your breath to flow naturally.
Simply observe it without judgment.
Whether it's deep,
Shallow,
Slow,
Fast,
It is what it needs to be at this moment in time.
Receive that breath for what it is.
Let's be grateful for this breath and for the next one which is this one and the one after that which is this one.
Let's be grateful for simply being here in this moment,
In this space.
At the end of each exhale acknowledge that pause before the next inhale.
Observe that stillness.
Sense the open,
Empty space where energy flows between all matter.
In that pause fill in that space with pure awareness of that moment of stillness.
Feel every part of your body relaxing on its own.
Feel your forehead relaxing.
Now your eyebrows relax.
Your eyes relax.
Your jaw relaxing.
All of it letting go.
Accept this moment as yours to be here.
Allow any hint of a smile to sneak in.
Now float your attention to the area around your neck.
Release any tension there.
Feel your shoulders.
Notice that broad space from the base of your neck to the outer edges of your shoulders and below your shoulders.
All that space you have available to relax into.
Let both your arms hang loose,
Surrendering to gravity another natural phenomenon.
When we align with nature and its flow,
We align with ease,
Peace and contentment.
Continue to breathe naturally.
Imagine you have all the time in the world to be here right now.
There's nowhere else you need to be but here in this space and now in this moment.
Tboth.
Anytime you notice that your mind has wandered,
Picture your body as a vast ocean and just let any thoughts that arise flow through your body like a little wave in that vast ocean.
Feel that thought ebbing away,
Freed from your consciousness.
On your next inhale,
Return your attention to your breath and feel how light your body is now.
Notice if you sense any areas of tightness still.
Just breathe into those areas.
Release the tension there.
Then release some more to create abundant space in those areas.
Toss into that space a splash of joy if that calls to you.
Continue on your own now.
With each inhale,
Receive that fresh renewed energy.
Feel it entering and filling in the space where the tension was released.
And with each exhale,
More tension is released.
As we cultivate this awareness of the constant rise and fall of sensations in our body,
We learn to recognize instances when some discomfort may arise,
Perhaps where our heart clenches slightly or a frown begins to form on our forehead.
These uneasy sensations are there as a gift to signal to us an imbalance between mind and body.
We can then respond by simply focusing on the soothing rhythmic flow of our breath to return us to stillness and to balance.
We could reflect later on which areas of the body the sensation arose from and then focus on creating more space there,
Perhaps in our hearts or in those specific areas to clear any blockages.
It may seem like we are constantly performing a balancing act to balance the mind and body.
As we learn to relax our mind,
So too our body becomes relaxed and undisturbed.
And the reverse is true.
As we learn to relax the body,
So will our mind be free of negative thoughts and any imagine your body weightless now,
Light as a feather.
This is the stillness we seek.
This is a stillness that brings us harmony and closer to our natural state,
Balanced and at peace.
For the remainder of the day,
I invite you to check back with your body,
Perhaps in between tasks or perhaps when you transition from your professional to your personal space.
Check in with your body to notice any areas that may have become either tight or contracted.
Then breathe into those areas to restore space and to allow the prana energy to flow through to restore relaxation,
To reconnect you to that stillness and sense of peace,
That peace that is always there for you.
As always,
May you make today a great day for you and yours.
Namaste.
Namaste.
Namaste.
