Allowing ourselves to rest as the observer of our reality from time to time, to gain perspective, to let things settle, to connect to the divinity within, can be deeply touching, nourishing, healing and lead to clarity of mind.

So allowing yourself to get settled into your space,

Closing your eyes,

And just beginning by bringing your awareness to the connection between the bottom half of your body and the seat below you.

Perhaps noticing your back connected to the space as well.

Just allowing your awareness to drift into these four walls.

With these next few inhales and exhales,

See if you can allow your body just to begin to melt down into the space below you,

Almost as if the ground is completely holding the weight of your body.

And you allow yourself to sink a bit deeper below,

As if the energy of your body is merging with the earth.

Letting go of needing to do anything in particular here.

Just allowing the body to be soft and easy.

And beginning to turn all of your awareness inward.

Seeing if you can let go of any specific point or destination,

But just trying to feel your way to the opposite of the outer world.

Settling in,

Letting go.

And as we rest here,

We begin to let go of our name,

As if you can't quite put your finger on it.

And in this moment,

You can't remember your gender.

You release your race,

Letting go of your religion.

You can't quite remember your career,

Your strengths or your weaknesses.

And you begin to let go of the sensation of your past,

As if when you look back,

All you see is light.

Recollection of where you've been or where you're going.

As when you look ahead into the future,

All you see is light.

So you allow the mind to let go of the pull of needing to be in the past,

Or the pull of needing to be in the future.

And you begin to find your way to a quiet resting place right here.

Now you begin to let go of all thoughts.

Any sensations you have of right or wrong or good or bad,

All of those just begin to leave your awareness by choice.

Continuing with every breath to let go of any label you've given yourself or the world has given you.

And you begin to imagine your way into a labelless space.

A blank slate.

And as you find your way to this space,

You allow yourself to simply exist as you are.

As thoughts arise,

They bounce off and leave.

For you are labelless,

Pure existence,

Resting in this space with nothing to do.

Letting go of any sensation of control.

Letting go of trying to change or fix a thing here.

And in this moment,

See if you can notice who is the observer of your experience.

Who is the one aware that you are aware?

Does this awareness ever leave?

Was this awareness born?

And is it possible for this awareness to ever die?

And if you tried,

Could you detach yourself from this knowing awareness?

Settling a bit deeper within,

Suspending all thought and labels around you.

Allowing yourself to rest as the observer for just a bit longer.

And whenever you feel ready,

Just allowing yourself to begin to bring your awareness to the connection between your body and the seat below you and behind you once more.

Becoming aware of the space that your body occupies in space.

Noticing the sounds around you in all directions.

Feeling the sensation of gravity holding you.

Placing yourself behind your eyes.

Placing yourself inside of your body.

And just noticing that you are on the earth.

At your own pace,

Taking three long,

Slow,

Quiet,

Deep inhales and exhales.

In through the nostrils,

Out through the mouth,

Letting everything go.

And whenever you feel ready,

Just beginning to circle the hands and move the wrists.

Feeling the feet and moving the ankles and just transitioning into stretching or moving any parts of your body that feel ready to stretch or move.

And whenever you feel ready,

You can go ahead and open your eyes.
