If we don’t take the time to listen to our bodies, stuck energy builds up and takes the form of tension, anger, shame, depression, and physical pain. All of this energy lives in our emotional bodies, the core of which is at the heart center. Pain, both emotional and physical, is our body’s way of screaming at us to pay attention. Through this meditation, we will gently release stuck emotions, foster self-compassion/ self-trust, and build pathways of communication between you and your heart.

Find a comfortable space where you can sit with your eyes closed,

Where you will have no interruptions.

You can light a candle,

Light some incense.

Make this space truly your own.

Just imagine yourself surrounded by a bubble of white light in your own little space where you are safe and supported.

With your eyes closed,

Just begin to breathe deeply.

Notice how it feels to have your breath move in and out through your nose.

Now rather than just becoming aware of our bodies,

I want you to feel that you exist inside of your body.

Begin to feel your body from the inside.

Feel as though you fully inhabit your body.

Begin to deepen and lengthen your breaths.

Feel your feet on the ground.

Feel that you fully inhabit your feet.

Feel that you're living inside of your feet,

But energetically you fill up the whole internal space of your feet.

Then moving up your legs into your pelvis,

Begin to feel that you fully inhabit your pelvis,

Your sitz bones.

Moving up into your solar plexus,

Feel your whole midsection all the way around from front to back and side to side.

Allow any sensations or emotions to arise and to fall away just as quickly as they come.

Moving up the midsection into your heart center.

Feel your heart from the inside.

Feel that you inhabit your whole chest cavity.

Feel that you're living inside of your heart.

Allow any sensations or emotions to arise.

Allow them to be and to fall away.

Moving up through your neck into your head,

Into the very center of your head,

The center of your skull.

Feeling your whole brain from front to back,

From side to side.

Simply feel like you inhabit your whole brain,

That you're living inside of your brain,

Inside of your head,

Your whole skull.

Allow any sensations and emotions to arise and to fall away.

Now feel that you inhabit your whole body all at once.

Feel your internal energy in your toes,

In your feet,

In your legs,

In your pelvis,

In your midsection,

In your chest,

In your arms,

Your shoulders,

Your wrists,

Your fingers,

Your chest,

Your neck,

Your head.

Feel that you're resting deep inside of your body.

And see if you notice any blockages in certain parts of your body.

Was it easier to inhabit certain parts than others?

You don't have to fix or change this.

Just notice.

Now breathe in white light in through your nose.

Allow it to move all the way down into your body,

Filling up your whole body.

And then exhaling through the mouth,

Visualizing any dark colors,

Maybe a gray that's releasing out of your body,

Releasing anything that's no longer serving you.

Inhaling and exhaling in this cycle,

Inhaling white light that disperses through your whole body,

And then exhaling anything that's no longer serving you,

Visualizing that as a darker,

Murkier color that's leaving your body.

And then exhaling in this cycle,

Inhaling white light that's leaving your body.

Now that you are embodied and energetically clear,

I want you to go back to the center of your heart.

Feel the core of your heart center.

Feel your heart beating.

Feel your chest rising and falling.

Perhaps you begin to feel some sensation or some emotion that lingers.

If not,

Keep imagining that your heart center is peeling open without force,

Without judgment.

Just imagine that it's slowly unfurling,

Allowing you to see and to sit with anything that it needs you to see.

If you are feeling an emotion or sensation,

Just allow it to wash over you.

Avoid creating stories or trying to make sense out of it.

Just practice sitting with the emotion,

Allowing it to exist inside of you.

Avoid the tendency to restrict or contract.

Just be with it.

And then I want you to ask your heart if there's anything that it needs you to know at this moment.

Just direct your inner question to your heart center.

You don't need to demand an answer.

You don't need to be worried in how the answer will show up.

Just keep listening,

Showing your body that you are finally listening.

You may feel the answer.

You may hear it.

You may see a visual.

You may get an inner knowing.

You may feel a sensation.

You may remember a memory.

You may not feel or hear very much,

And that's okay too.

The more you practice listening,

The more you will receive what you need to know.

Give some thanks and gratitude to your heart center.

Put a hand over your heart.

Give it a warm,

Loving touch.

Say thank you.

And come back to being in your entire body,

Filling up the whole inner space of your body.

Take another deep breath into your tailbone,

Your pelvis,

Your belly,

Your chest,

And exhale.

As you slowly open your eyes and come back to the world around you,

Remember that your body and your heart is always trying to communicate with you,

Giving it the space to do so.

Allowing yourself to really listen without distraction can support healing on so many different levels.

You can come back to this at any time.

Have a beautiful rest of your day.
