Hello,
Welcome everyone to Reiki infused meditation for empaths this morning.
My name is Laura and I am excited to be here with you today.
I think we all could use a little bit of peace and calming so we're really focusing on grounding and orienting.
The world can feel very overwhelming,
It can feel uncertain and it can create a little bit of anxiety and I know that a lot of us may be feeling that today.
So the opportunity is to really come in and ground back into the self as we get ready to plant these seeds,
These big visions that we have for ourselves and for the world around us to stabilize and cultivate those foundations,
Those roots.
And so what is coming to mind for me today is really that concept in yoga that you have to root to rise.
So you have to really spread those roots out and establish a really stable and steady foundation before you can rise,
Before you can create that mobility in the upper part of the body in those yoga poses that we have.
And so the invitation is to come within today knowing that there's work to do,
There's things that we have planned,
There's desires,
Hopes,
Dreams that we have for ourselves and for the world.
But first we must come in and we must settle the energy because anxious energy to me feels very static,
Right?
It's all over the place and it's about creating like a big hug for yourself and creating these boundaries and experiencing that boundary within yourself.
It's really important to feel that sense of containment to then focus that energy forward in a really purposeful way.
I just invite you to really get all the cozy things.
We'll be dropping into the senses today,
So grab your cozy blanket.
If you have your candles,
Go ahead and light them.
If you have any music that you want to put on,
Allow yourself to really nurture those senses and create a kind of soft cocoon for yourself today as we move through our meditation.
So go ahead and find those things for yourself.
And I encourage you to,
Especially today,
Just to,
If you have the ability to go ahead and lie down and let your body just completely relax and surrender.
And just allow your body to surrender,
To be at ease,
So that way you can come within and just release and surrender and let go.
For the next 30 minutes,
We're able to just let all the muscles relax.
Go ahead and cover yourself up with your blanket.
And when you're ready,
Go ahead and let the eyes close.
So we're going to take a few moments just to settle in to the physical body.
So often it can feel with a sense of overwhelm or anxiety that like too much is coming through,
Too much energy too much of everything.
So it's directing that energy and really focusing and acknowledging that there is an abundance of this energy within our being.
So let's go ahead and take a moment.
If you're resting down,
I invite you to go ahead and bend the knees and place the soles of the feet onto the floor so you feel that steadiness and can press the weight into the floor.
So it's a gentle awareness of the soles of the feet on the floor.
And I invite you to inhale.
And as you inhale,
Spread the toes and lift them.
As you exhale,
Go ahead and place big toe down.
And then second,
Third,
Fourth,
And then fifth toe.
Pressing them into the earth,
Feeling that energy from the body,
Pressing into the earth and sending that extra energy.
We're going to send it to Mother Earth.
She's going to hold this in a container for us today.
So again,
Go ahead and breathe in through the nose.
As you exhale,
Again,
Press into the big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe.
Press the whole sole of the foot down.
Beautiful.
All right.
Now,
If you feel like you can't feel your feet,
You can feel your toes.
If you feel like you can't feel your toes,
You can feel your toes.
If you feel like you can't feel your toes,
You can feel your toes.
If you feel like you can't feel your toes,
You can feel your toes.
If you feel like you can't feel your toes,
You can feel your toes.
If you feel like you can't feel your toes,
You can feel your toes.
If you feel like you can't feel your toes,
You can feel your toes.
If you feel like you can't feel your toes,
You can feel your toes.
If you feel like you can't feel your toes,
You can feel your toes.
If you feel like you can't feel your toes,
You can feel your toes.
As we exhale,
Slowly release down and press into the big toe and the thumb,
Second,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth.
Press the entire palm,
The entire sole of the foot into the earth.
Into the earth.
Beautiful.
Again,
Go ahead and inhale,
Lifting toes,
Lifting fingers.
Biggest inhale you've taken all day.
Spread those toes,
Spread those fingers,
And then exhale.
Big toe and thumbs down to the earth.
Second,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth.
Beautiful.
Last and final time.
Go ahead and inhale,
Lifting fingers,
Lifting toes,
Spreading wide,
Feeling the expansiveness of that energy,
Letting it go,
Letting it expand,
And then exhale,
Press it into the earth.
Thumbs,
Big toe mounds,
Second,
Fourth,
Fifth,
Grounding the entire palm,
The entire sole of the foot into the earth,
Sending that extra energy down and away.
Beautiful.
So settling in here now,
You can release and remain with the hands at the sides.
If you want to go ahead and extend the legs all the way out,
You can.
Just taking a moment to let the body be completely comfortable,
Supporting with pillows or anything else that you may need right now.
Beautiful.
And allow yourself,
If the eyes are not closed already,
Go ahead and let the eyes close if that feels comfortable.
And we're going to take a moment to find the boundaries of our own breath.
So beginning to notice as we draw the breath in through the nose,
Taking a nice,
Big,
Expansive breath.
Until you feel that gentle pressure from within,
That fullness of the lungs,
Holding here for a breath,
And then exhale slowly,
Softly,
Letting all the air release out of the lungs.
Beautiful.
Go ahead and inhale.
Again,
Feeling the boundaries of the body within the breath,
Holding for a second here,
Slowly exhale.
You can either exhale out through the nose or the mouth.
Just play with it.
See what feels good.
Again,
Go ahead and inhale.
Biggest breath you've taken all day.
Feel the boundaries of the body.
Hold here for a second and then exhale.
Beautiful.
Taking a moment just to let the breath normalize here.
So that gentle rise and fall of the chest,
That expansion and contraction of the ribs.
Feeling that fullness of your own being,
This dynamic body that we're living in.
So as we inhale,
Feeling again that rise and fall in the front and back body,
Feeling that pressure of the spine and the shoulder blades as it presses into the earth,
Gently a little bit more with each inhale.
As that chest rises and expands in the front body,
Just a little bit more.
Continuing with that breath.
And then now taking a little bit of time to notice the side body.
So that expansion of the ribs on the inhale,
The contraction as you gently,
Slowly exhale and release.
Beautiful.
So just allowing this cadence,
Just rhythmically moving through the body.
And tapping into our own energy.
And as the body begins to settle,
You may notice that the mind wanders a bit.
So allowing yourself to come within a little bit more,
I invite you to gently rub the palms together.
Just building energy here,
Building the energy that we're going to work with as we move through the session.
Again,
The rhythm of the breath and the rhythm of our movements,
As subtle as they may be,
Brings this kind of order back in.
So that energy,
That kind of frenetic energy that's bouncing all over the place,
We're allowing ourselves again to give that energetic hug,
To bring that energy in,
To settle and slow it down,
To ground it down into our body,
Our being.
So taking a moment and placing the palms on the eyes.
Maybe feeling the coolness of the fingers on the warmth of your skin.
Maybe noticing a subtle softening of the eyes when they get that dark signal,
Knowing that they no longer need to look outward.
No longer needing to look for the answers from outside of your own being,
That you're able to look for the answers within.
That there is an inner wisdom,
That you're allowing yourself to witness in these next few moments.
And minutes together.
Feeling the gentle pressure of the palms around the eyes,
In the space between the brow,
Softening that space,
Releasing the tension,
The worry.
Just letting it soften and melt for right now.
Letting the eyes sink heavy.
Taking a moment to come back to the breath.
Noticing that gentle rise and fall.
As we orient to the space that we're in,
Taking a moment to simply notice any sounds that you may hear.
Maybe there's a bird off in the distance.
Maybe you can hear a rustling of leaves.
Maybe there's a bird off in the distance.
Maybe you can hear a rustling of others in your home.
Maybe it is that of just silence.
Noticing what you hear in this moment.
Allowing you to be deeply present with the body,
With the mind.
Gently letting the hands rest beside the body again.
Taking a moment to maybe notice the coolness of the floor.
Taking a moment to maybe notice the coolness of the floor.
Maybe the softness of your blanket.
Breathing here.
Let's go ahead and bring our awareness to the crown.
Cultivating a warm,
Beautiful glow and light.
Inhaling here.
Exhaling,
Let it come down to the space between the brow.
Offering an invitation for those insights and for that intuition to feel the breath.
Letting the breath flow in.
Eyes sinking heavy,
Space between the teeth.
Letting the jaw soften and relax.
Moving that beautiful warm light down to the throat.
Down to the heart center.
To holding this energy here.
Allowing ourselves to be with whatever is showing up today.
We're going to nurture whatever that is for you.
Just nurturing and witnessing whatever is coming up here.
So whatever discomfort or dis-ease that is coming into the body,
Maybe taking a moment to just shift or move or maybe just smooth out the edges with the breath.
Again,
Envisioning that energy as this beautiful,
Soft blanket that we're wrapping the body,
Our energetic body in.
To create that sense of containment,
Those gentle,
Soft boundaries.
So just as the cadence of the breath begins to slow,
That frenetic energy also begins to slow and settle.
So just working with what is,
What's showing up within.
Just using that breath to noticing if you need to bring the breath in a little bit deeper.
Inhale here.
Creating space to process,
To let go.
Inhale here.
Creating space to process,
To witness,
To nurture.
But knowing that we don't need to hold on or grip to this.
So just as we did earlier,
Sending that energy to Mother Earth.
So working that breath,
Inhale,
Big,
Expansive inhale.
Exhale slowly,
Let it release,
Letting that energy go.
Once again here.
Beautiful,
Shifting that energy down to the space of the solar plexus.
This place of confidence,
Of courage.
Knowing that we don't have to tackle everything in a day,
But the courage that it takes to show up each and every moment,
Each and every breath,
Each and every breath,
But also the courage that it takes to be compassionate,
To hold this tenderness that as empaths we exude,
We wear our hearts on our sleeve.
And sometimes that makes it feel hard to exist in the world.
But here we are tapping into once again,
This confidence,
This courage,
This confidence,
This courage to show up each and every moment.
Once again,
This confidence,
This courage,
That we continue because we can feel deeply,
That there is strength in our tenderness,
Holding space for all of who we are.
Holding space for compassion and care,
But also trusting that we have the capacity within to be with the fullness of who we are,
How we experience things,
And how powerful we are when we can channel that energy.
So take a moment to feel that energy,
That courage,
That confidence,
Build and grow here in that center of your being.
Letting that light,
That energy grow,
With this big inhale,
Go ahead and breathe into the fullness of this energy,
Big inhale.
Exhale,
Go ahead and send it down through the base of your being,
Through the legs,
Through the toes,
The soles of the feet,
As if there are roots tethering you to the earth.
Not only is this energy tethering you to the earth,
But it is intertwining those roots with one another,
Reminding us that we never stand alone,
That we are not alone,
That we are not alone,
Reminding us that we never stand alone,
That there is always support available to us,
Even though we may not be able to see it on the surface.
But if we can quiet ourselves and go within,
And settle into that subtle energetic layer of ourselves,
Of one another,
The support will become visible.
We will see each other energetically as we move through the world.
We will see each other energetically as we move through the world.
So breathing here into this stable base,
This foundation of support,
Of love,
Of courage,
Of confidence,
Allowing your entire being to radiate with light and love.
Slowly begin envisioning this energy and wrapping yourself in this beautiful cloak of light.
So over the shoulders,
Around the body,
The legs,
This beautiful protective light and energy will move with you through your day.
Gently allowing yourself to come back to the center of your being.
So gently allowing yourself to come back to your breath,
That awareness again of that rise and fall of the chest,
The expansion and contraction of the ribs.
Slowly allow yourself to start taking a little bit deeper breaths.
So allowing your awareness to come back to the sounds in the room.
And then slowly,
Gently,
When you're ready,
Begin to bring a little bit of movement into the fingers and the toes.
And coming back into the body.
So creating a little bit of movement,
Maybe a stretch in the body.
And then rolling gently over onto your side.
Savoring the stillness for one more breath.
And gently,
Slowly,
When you're ready,
Go ahead and press on up to seated position if you'd like.
As we all come back together.
May you be happy,
May you be healthy,
May you be free from suffering,
And may you know peace.
Thank you everyone for joining me today.
Felt like a lot of energy moving through today,
A lot of emotion.
I'm so grateful for each of you.
That we're able to come together like this.
You guys don't.
For those of you don't know me very well yet,
I'm a crier.
I could be happy,
I could be sad,
I could be excited.
I tend to cry pretty easy.
But yeah,
Today feels like the world needs just a little bit of love and grounding.
Kathy,
You're welcome.
I love that you were here today,
Carol.
So beautiful,
Very needed,
Yes.
Namaste,
Love you too.
So as we're moving through,
Yeah,
I just invite you guys to just keep coming back.
When we're working with our nervous system,
It's really important to ground.
So again,
You can do this anywhere that you are.
That grounding of lifting the toes or the palms,
Wherever you are.
Even if you're at work,
At your desk,
Lift them,
Open it up,
Become expansive.
Take a deep breath and then exhale slowly.
Again,
Making that exhale a little bit longer than the inhale.
You can calm the nervous system.
You can bring that energy in,
That anxious energy.
When we're in a place of overwhelm,
It's really good to just come back to the body,
Right?
Our beautiful bodies,
Our beautiful breath.
And we can shift how we are physiologically experiencing the world,
Right?
So it's such a powerful thing to remember when we feel like we can't control what's happening,
Is we can control our breath.
Sometimes it feels like we can't,
Emotions and thoughts,
And we can start to spin.
But if you bring yourself back to the breath,
You can signal to the body that you are safe,
Right?
We are safe in this moment.
You are safe in your body.
So allowing yourself to come into that safe place,
That sense of steadiness.
And using the breath,
It really,
It triggers within the body,
The nervous system to come into that more relaxed state.
We step out of that fight or flight.
We move into that rest and digest,
Right?
And so it's really important to remember that we have that still,
No matter what's happening out here.
And to allow yourself to use the senses.
So orienting is,
So we ground ourselves,
We ground into our bodies,
We ground into our breath.
And then what I led you through was this orientation,
Right?
So what are we seeing?
What are we sensing?
We are very sensitive beings,
Noticing what am I hearing?
What am I seeing with my eyes?
What am I smelling in my environment?
What am I touching,
Creating soft things to touch,
To feel,
To hold?
And so allowing yourselves to find these ways of being within yourself that can create that sense of calm is really powerful to remember that.
And I also just want to share with you guys,
I've created a group within Insight Timer.
And I would love for us to have a chance.
I know that I am able to have your comments here.
But I don't know about for you,
But a lot of times with energy work,
You know,
You come out of your session and you feel fuzzy.
But sometimes the insights come in later,
Or maybe a practice that really works for you,
Or something that you want to share.
And I can't tell you how excited I was today to come into community and to be able to connect with each of you,
To be able to connect with each of you today.
There's been a lot of transition in my life and moving and everything else.
But the consistent that has been there is knowing that every Thursday I get to show up and I get to be with all of you.
And so I wanted it to be that you all have a space to talk and connect and get to know each other as well.
And it's a place where the comments stay right here,
Like all the comments go away,
And we can't like respond to one another.
But in the group,
So it's called Empowered Empaths.
If you go to my profile,
Scan all the way down.
Insight Timer isn't super user friendly.
So you have to scan all the way,
Scroll all the way down.
On the very bottom,
There will be the group.
Go ahead and join the group.
If there's any insights that I get,
Or practices,
Or meditations,
Or maybe playlists,
Or anything like that,
That you guys want to share with one another of what's working,
Or maybe some insights that come through for you,
Whatever.
I just want to build that sense of community and have that being able to cultivate conversation.
I want to get to know each of you.
We have this beautiful,
Consistent group of about 45 people that show up every week.
And it's just fantastic.
And I just want to have a chance for us each to share because I share with you my practices.
And it's,
I love to know when or if it resonates for you.
But I know each of you have your own experiences and your own practices as well,
Or ways of interpretation,
Right?
You experience the same thing.
You're hearing the same meditation,
But maybe it moves through you in a different way,
Or you have a different type of insight.
So I just invite you to come on and to share.
They're in the group,
So Empowered Empath,
If you just search it in Insight Timer,
Or you can find it in my blog.
If you aren't following me already,
Go ahead and follow and you'll get those reminders,
But of any events coming up.
So I would love to see you there throughout the week.
And then just know that we will have this time together to meditate together on Thursdays,
Which is wonderful as well.
I hope you guys have just a beautiful week,
A beautiful weekend.
Remembering that in November,
We are in this one energy.
So it reminds me of a seed of coming within,
Of nurturing ourselves,
Our vision.
It's new beginnings,
Right?
And sometimes beginnings don't look the way we think they will.
But it's coming back within yourself and staying aligned and true to the vision that you hold and what it is that you wanna create in the world.
So again,
Don't forget,
We've got these roots that are extending out beneath the soil.
We need to tap in using our empathic kind of superpowers to see one another out in the world and to be loving and gentle and kind to ourselves and to one another as we move through our day.
To help us through challenging times.
So wishing you guys a beautiful week and I look forward to seeing you in the group and then also next week for our session.
All right,
Bye-bye.
